His mother abandoned him when he was a young child after his father died. He never heard of her again.

Maeva reluctantly took him in until she could find a witch or wizard willing to have him as a familiar. They're still together (but his not her familiar)

He considers Maeva his only and true mother and loves her deeply, however he's never called her "mother" or anything similar.
He's willing to go to the end of the world and back just to help her.

He's also a mama's child. He's been acting like a child for the last 2 centuries.
Make no mistake though, he can and will act like a mature adult when he has to, he simply likes to be a bit immature around his mom. 

Being an unicorn, he's very powerful... or would be if he ever tried. 

He's a ray of sunshine, a pure cinnamon roll, a child at heart. 

He loves children and is, in general, good at taking care of them unless they're really young

Doesn't have a proper job but helps Maeva with everything, from household chores to research to very powerful spells.
