Out of the two of them, Barron is definiely the more vocal of the two Cassel brothers, and the only one who's actually a demon (a deal gone wrong back in the day). He originally started out as the older brother, but as time passed, and he didn't age but his brother Merric did, it became apparent that visually Barron appeared as younger instead.
Barron is mostly self-serving; he sees little point in taking the time to help others unless he gets something out of it in exchange, hence his demon deals. He likes to cause mayhem and will often rile people up just for the fun of it. He thrives on entertainment and drama and intrigue, and gets bored in two seconds flat with things that don't manage to hold his attention. A part of him realizes he can't always be that way, but he doesn't particularly care at the present moment. Barron, however, has a weakness in the form of his brother, not necessarily out of a strong connection (they have a somewhat strained relationship), but because Barron, as the older brother, feels he needs to take care and provide for Merric - even if Merric doesn't need it.
On the whole, Barron is not a terrible guy, but he does terrible things out of habit and because it's all he knows. He is insatiably curious about things and always wants more knowledge but gets frustrated when there is no way to get said knowledge. He is very intelligent, but doesn't really show it, and oftentimes comes off as simply a jerk.
