Bonescar is a heavily troubled cat who's spent his entire life living under the corrupted Marshclan leader, Fallenstar. An incredibly adept warrior in battle, Bonescar follows orders without second thought, and has earned himself a top ranking among Marshclan's warriors. Despite his proficency, he has never once expressed interest in becoming deputy.
Even with his upbringing, Bonescar loved patrolling duty the most; long walks through the marsh gave him peace and a duty to focus on. He prefers sleeping under the stars in the open, rather than nestled up in a den. He is not particularly liked or disliked by his fellow warriors, and doesn't care much of their opinion on him in turn.
Bonescar is a good warrior by Fallenstar's definition—obedient and lethal.
Hunting and fighting is all Bonescar believes he is good for. He never truly believed he had a chance to change things due to the way he was raised, and never begins to fight back against Fallenstar until he sees the majority of Marshclan rising up against their corrupt leader. He barely feels regret towards having killed any cat, even his own son. His personal identity never feels anything more than simply 'warrior.' Bonescar isn't corrupt or immoral by any means—he just doesn't know how to do or feel anything else.

Bonescar met and courted his only mate, Briarheart, a warrior from the close-by Moorclan, out on patrolling duty. The two had a sweet, short lived romance, both sneaking out on their respective patrols to the overlapping borders to meet and talk, culminating in Briarheart's pregnancy.
When Briarheart snuck their kits out to introduce them to a waiting Bonescar, the cat began to panic, realizing his mistake and fearing for the kit's lives. If Fallenstar were ever to find out about his kits and indoctrinate them into Marshclan, or worse, go to war with Moorclan over them, too much blood would be shed. Abandoning Briarheart and her kits to keep them safe, Bonescar fled back to the safety of Marshclan and made sure he never patrolled the Moorclan border again.
KITHOOD
As the first kit born under Fallenstar's reign, Bonekit has been groomed his entire life to become a ruthless warrior. Raised primarily by his mother Sweetbloom, then Deerflight after she died, Bonekit's parents were the only source of positive influence he had until his mentorship with Posyswirl. His care under the cats that raised him prevented Bonekit from growing into a monster, nurturing the kindness in him, though they ultimately couldn't save the young cat from growing into what he was raised to be.
WARRIORHOOD
Trained with battle and hunting in mind first and foremost, Bonepaw grew up selfish, looking out only for himself and doing what Fallenstar told him was right and necessary—killing first and asking questions second. He was content to follow Fallenstar and the majority's rule to keep himself safe and alive. Being mentored by Posyswirl, he knew along with many others that Fallenstar was nowhere near a good cat, but never contributed to any cause that would end his reign for good. Only when his warriors began to actively fight for Marshclan and drive Fallenstar's supporters out of the clan did Bonescar rise to action, helping in chasing off the last of the cat's followers for good.

Bonescar is a solidly built cat, incredibly toned but lacking in agility.
His ginger pelt is heavily striped, with a paler tail and underbelly. He has a thicker mane than his father. His underbelly markings curiously resemble bones, a ribcage curving up and out from under his chest. His back toes are all white while only the tips of his front ones are, and his claws are only partially retracted unless fighting or hunting. His features are wide and solid, with tired and sad looking eyes. All of his scars are primarily centered on the front of his body, showing his refusal to back down from a fight and never turn his back on an adversary. A particularly gnarly scar runs from the bottom of his chin up to his nose, cutting through his lip and exposing a few front teeth. His ears are nearly gone.
After Sweetbloom's death, Deerflight became Bonekit's primary caretaker. Deerflight only wanted what was best for Bonekit, but had no idea the kind of toll his lifestyle would take on Bonekit. As Bonepaw became more and more distant training under his mentor, Deerflight couldn't do much but reach out as best as he could and watch his son fall further into Fallenstar's grip.
Once Fallenstar is taken care of once and for all, Bonescar is able to mellow out. Deerstar, reaching out to his almost estranged son, finds Bonescar shaken and traumatized, but willing to put in the work to have a relationship with his father that he never had before.
Bonekit never got to know his mother. He was raised by just her for a few moons, as Deerflight and Sweetbloom had separated and didn't raise him together. It was only a few moons after she gave birth to him that she died tragically in battle. Bonescar only remembers her as being kind and gentle to him, one of the few cats in his life who treated him with tenderness and love.
Despite not knowing each other for that long, Bonescar truly connected with and loved Briarheart. Although the two had to sneak around, Bonescar grew more and more talkative each time he got to see her, though he never completely opened up to her. Despite knowing the risks Bonescar was happy to have kits with her at first, the two of them agreeing it was best for the kits to be raised in Moorclan.
Briarheart would make many trips to the border they met to talk with Bonescar and receive comfort and affection throughout her pregnancy. Although Bonescar hated touch, he was able to cuddle Briarheart a few times, and even groom and clean her face gently at points.
After seeing his kits for the first time however, instead of feeling love and hope for the future, Bonescar panicked and felt he had made the wrong choice. He worried the kits would be easily traceable back to him and feared for what Fallenstar might do to claim the kits under Marshclan. Bonescar fled the scene and never saw Briarheart again.
