zodiacQuick to anger with high standards, there's not many moments Vicarious has had within the last few centuries where he felt truly happy, or even peaceful. With many direct underlings and much work to do, he doesnt get too much time to himself, and in turn makes him even snappier than his usual snappy self. Polite to those he needs to be (which is few) and sarcastic with those he can be (which is many), his demeanor towards another fully depends on 2 things: if he needs something from them, or will need something from them.
Vicarious does not care for office politics, but that's not to say he doesnt hear whats spoken of him through the grape vine. He would be lying if he said he didn't get enjoyment out of the fear those below him feel when he enters the room.

Vicarious only wears clothing on the surface world, or if he "has to" for work. When parading around as a human, he tends to stick with formal wear such as suits and a cane, posing as an older man.
When getting into studies or experiments that may get a bit messy, he often wears a plain colored lab coat along with matching gloves and eye protection. His lab coat tends to be black, but he wears white as well.
For formal work events, Vicarious believes "less is more" and will simply wear a button up with a tie. While he isn't one for dressing up, he does pride himself on his appearance when he does, especially in the overworld.
Design notes
- Take any artistic liberties you want! His design is simple and somewhat fluid.
- Tends to face either left or right, but can be drawn facing forward.
- Has a scar on his chest from a sword plunging through his heart.
- Long and scrawny build, but not weak by any means.
- Normally scowling or frowning, but toothy grins are more fun to draw.

From the get-go, Vera and Vicarious's relationship was nothing more than business. He knew why he was brought back, and more than proved himself worthy. With nothing in his way down below, he climbed to the top with sharp claws and bloodied fangs, finally earning his place as a Head Demon. While Vera may not show it, they are incredibly pleased with his results despite his methods.
Despite his higher status, Vera still likes to keep a close eye on him. They trust Vicarious more than he trusts them, but thats not really saying much.

Whether Vera gave him this demon to train as a punishment or as a sick twisted prank, he will never know. Their relationship was rocky from the start and has been at rock bottom for some time. While Dev is terrified of Vicarious's anger, he does next to nothing to appease him, if anything, which feeds into a seemingly endless cycle of abuse. Vicarious has given up trying to teach him anything, but keeps him around for menial tasks and appearances.
Dev tries to stay away from him for the most part, but does have to report directly to Vicarious often.

Once friends, now foes. Atilius and Vicarious grew up together pretty closely but drifted away over time before it all came crashing down. Feeling in his heart the sting of betrayal and rage, he lashed out at Atilius, causing blindness in one of his eyes. Once his body was cast out of heaven, Atilius had to spend centuries proving himself worthy once again of his angel status.
While they haven't seen one another in centuries, Atilius still has nightmares about Vicarious, and Vicarious still yearns for revenge.
