Glyph has been lurking around for a few hundred years, watching the mortals run around like headless chickens doing all sorts of nasty stuff to each other, because of all sorts of silly reasons. They can't exactly judge them much though - the demons they used to consort with were hardly much better. If anything at least the mortals were honest about it.

They spend their time making deals with people in need. The details of such deals vary from deal to deal, but most often Glyph has overheard a possible client wishing they had help for some problem or other, and will offer to fix it for them. Usually, people are rather dismissive of the possibility until Glyph mentions that they'll do it not in exchange for a soul (All the demons are doing that, right? Why be so dull?), but for an assortment of apparently innocuous objects that can't be that difficult to obtain, at least in comparison to whatever would fix the problem they're facing.

Of course, Glyph always fails to mention that if they don't uphold their end of the bargain - or uphold it to Glyph's satisfaction - then they'll eat the client. After all, what use are mortals who don't keep up with their faustian pacts?

  • They only tend to make deals with the view to making sure the client can't pay for whatever reason so they can eat them. On the rare occasion that the client does manage it, they're usually most put out.
  • Although technically speaking they don't need to sleep, they do very much enjoy it - napping is a very good invention, although waking up to find you missed a few decades is rather annoying - but they can't sleep unless they're sure their head is safe. Thus, they usually end up hugging it to their body and waking up with mildly crushed ears.
  • Their head can actually be removed and replaced with just about any similarly sized thing, since the core of their conscious self is somewhere in their torso. Still, it's rather rude, and running off with their head is likely to get you eaten when they catch up.
