The Lumin

Lumin
These starry beings have three classes of forms and intelligence; Novalings, Novae, and Supernovae. The former two don't have much means of communication, but Supernova generally refer to themselves and the other classes as Lumin.

Supernovae
Tall, humanoid-aliens; they are powerful, intelligent, & made of light + star-matter. Born singularly from the explosion of a supernovae. Twins are possible, but are a rare occurrence & must share their energies. They tend to be rather stoic & robotic, but can gain empathetic and human-like qualities through continued interaction with terrestrial life. In addition, their ability to predict future events based on action & inaction is reasonably accurate.

Novae
Varying sizes of solitary, quadrupedal starry beings. Multiple novae can be born from the same star, though only one per nova-burst. Although many prefer to be solitary, some find themselves as companions to other Lumin. This includes companionship to leaders of the Lights or the Mira Ceti. They have a fair bit of intelligence, more than most Terra creatures, but they do not communicate verbally.

Novalings
Small & significantly more animalistic beings that can be drawn out of planetary cores by Supernovae; generally, their use is to be a wandering scope for their leaders. They have their leader's symbol shining on their foreheads, and their attitudes are often somewhat derivative of that leader. Novalings can be called Lings, but Lights call theirs Lightlings & Mira call theirs Miralings.

The Lights
Lights see terrestrials (Terra) & their planets as a beautiful thing to be protected. But, also seeing them as actively self-destructive, Lights try to them help out in many ways. Some focus on humans, while other focus on animals and nature's wellness. It is all up to their interest/preference; some do like to have a mix of both. All their aid varies in impact based on what a leader decides is manageable. They are a loosely organized "group," having separate leaders & some allies, but no singular head commanding over all of them. Just as any other Lumin, they have the ability to make predictions that are reasonably accurate, should they pay enough attention. They often heavily consider the probabilities of success and failure of a mission; analyzing the potential actions of their particular recruits (Light-travelers), potential enemies & bystanders based on previous observations of each factor. All this while monitoring the multiple planets they've sent off their Lings to wander upon. As the leaders and travelers regularly engage with Terras, their personality continuously develops to be more human-like and less robotically unresponsive. Something their enemy, the Mira Ceti, fears will eventually be destructive to the Lumin as a whole.

The Mira Ceti
Mira is the head leading various Mira Ceti leaders, & only these leaders know who she is. The Mira's efforts are targeted at being a direct hindrance to the Lights, diverting their aid and occasionally imprisoning their most successful travelers. They intend to release these imprisoned only when all that is terrestrial no longer exists, hoping they & the "affected" can return to their past selves once these previous influences no longer exist. They avoid Terras with every effort that they can, and they have no desire to destroy mortals outright, since Mira believes they'll destroy themselves in due time. When they step foot on a planet, they see every tree, element, and creature almost as a bunch of placeholder cubes. This is an intentional effort; it is enough to avoid walking into walls and is supposed to keep them "safe" from the "self-destructive influences of the Terra." In addition, Lumin of any kind can keep themselves hidden from the Terras, dispersing their form enough to be invisible whilst remaining in control. The Mera Ceti make use of this ability constantly. Meanwhile, the little Miralings' sole responsibility is to hinder Light travelers & call for the aid of Mira Ceti soldiery to disperse of them.

Ghost / Pure
True neutral, a Lumin's first mindset. Lights refer to them as Ghost(s) & Miras refer to them as Pure(s). They live their lives as mostly thoughtless wanderers, devoid of any purpose, and paying no mind to terrestrials one way or another. They could remain this way for an eternity if they are not drawn to either of the previous two mindsets.

Appearances
Heights are potentially infinite & solely based on age; as they grow older, Lumin attain more and more energy passively. The more energy they have, the more flexibility and choice they have in their appearance. The most ancient of Lights and/or Mira Ceti will often be adorned with very extravagant design work. For some, this is used to avoid becoming immensely tall outside of their comfort zone, reallocating the brunt of their energy onto other aspects of their appearance. Reallocation of energy / shifting in appearance can be done rather quickly. Generally, bipeds (S.Novae) do not shift into quadrupeds (Novae / Lings) or vice versa. Lights are greatly affected by terrestrial beings; their interest often causes them to mimic their favorite aspects of terrestrial creatures & elements in their attire and build. The Mira Ceti only adorn themselves with celestial flourishes; any of their own kind diverging from this will get the side eye from their allies, or a knife. Ghosts/Pures are a simple, unadorned celestial body; a vaguely shaped, starry bipedal/quadrupedal creature.

Injury
Lumin experience pain as a disconnect, a strong feeling of confusion & dizziness. Injury consists of losing access/control of some of their energy. (like uhhh, their arm is now fizzling into energy particles, trying very hard to keep their shape) They can reform and regain control of these if they are given enough time. Highest severity of injury causes their entire being to disperse. They can reform on their own over an extended period of time, or drift towards their leader to be reformed quickly. Generally, Terrestrials have a very difficult time actually injuring a Lumin, but they could possibly find a way through brute force (regrettable, do not do it). Lumin have a far easier time fighting each other off, as their weaponry is designed for use against their own being.

Death
If by some anomaly that a Terra can disperse a Lumin's form, they could never kill actually it. The only way to permanently cause a Lumin to be unable to reform would be the intentional destruction of their energies. Though, this is generally very frowned upon by both sides and is a last resort. They would be far more likely to imprison their energy and separate it rather than outright destroy it.

Astrahelm
This is one of many areas in space where Lights settle. Weis, Kyro & Tori have settled in this area. The name covers a very vast space of smaller starry landmasses. Although it is a "general area," the vastness of it means an average Terra would not be able to travel across it, unless they lived multiple lifetimes (and could breathe in space-).

Starry landmasses/bases
Supernovae & Novae may make settlements for themselves out of starry landmasses; they can add and remove mass with their energies. Some Lumin design settlements in groups, others solitarily. The look, both internally and outwardly, of the settlements depends on the individual(s) personal preferences, and their relationship (or lack thereof) with mortal worlds. The landmasses tend to drift consistently, but if a Lumin wanted it settled, they could mitigate its movement. However, if an Aster desired to have a settlement, they could build one very slowly with the energies borrowed from their leader, which they possess a portion of in their gems (aka Vessels). Should they want it to progress quicker, they would have to request help from an actual Lumin.

The Asters

Aster - "Are not flowers the stars of the earth, and are not our stars the flowers of the heavens?" - Balfour
Born on terrestrial planets, they are any Terra human or animal that is recruited by the Lights to be Light-travelers. They are affectionately dubbed as Asters. Most often, potential Asters are found by Lightlings. If a Ling is very interested in an individual, they may follow them closely, but inconspicuously, in the hopes that their leader will recognize and consider helping or recruiting the individual. Otherwise, certain Asters can be a result of a leader crossing paths with them, or previous promises made to the Aster's relatives. While Lights have an admiration for Terras, they don't always believe they can be trusted to carry out missions in comparison to Lumin recruits. Therefore, not all Light-leaders are willing to recruit Terras. Meanwhile Mira's, under absolutely no circumstances, will ever recruit a Terra.

Recruitment
The most basic deal a leader will make always with a Terra is to preserve their life for as long as the leader themselves live, which could very well be infinitely. Any other deals depend on the personality of the leader and the needs of the Terra. They can ask for a variety of things, often among these requests are for the leader to watch over the loved ones the new Aster will leave behind. Once an agreement is made, the leader will form 1-3 crystal-like vessels in the shape of their symbol and give it to the Aster. This grants a connection between the new Aster and their leader. It ensures that the Aster will always be easily locatable and have access to their Lumin-weapon, as well as a small amount of storage (should they make a space settlement). In addition, it allows the Aster to quickly warp back to their leader in case of emergency. Should an Aster ever want to walk back their deal, their ability to do this depends on their leader. (Some leaders will permit former Asters to keep their vessels, but most will ask for them back.)

Appearances
Well firstly the vessels make their blood & skin change color; blue or purple is the most common. Their blood also has a faint glow. They are not usually informed of this change.. Some of them, generally human Asters, dye their hair to hopefully match their strange new color. Others simply accept this. After recruitment, the Aster's physical being is frozen in the state they were recruited in. Because of this, leaders generally only recruit Asters that are at least young adults, and in good health. If they are not recruited in good health, say if their leg is broken, it will not heal for as long as they are Asters. Though if they break a leg after recruitment, they will of course be able to heal eventually. This is why a Light won't "save" a dying creature by recruiting them, as they would be in pain for eternity. However, should they ever decide to leave their leader and give up / abandon their vessel(s), they will very slowly revert back to their normal selves. They will, eventually, no longer be a strange color and will be able to resume aging as normal.

Injury
Asters feel pain similarly to how they did when they were regular creatures. However, the rate they begin to feel these pains differ. Immediately, they will feel small pains like a scuff, a slap, or a papercut. But more severe injuries, like getting stabbed w/ a sword, has a delayed pain reaction. During severe injuries, pain is very delayed, and the affected area begins to spread / turn to fizzling energy particles very similarly to Lumins' injuries. Also, during this state, they do not bleed. If they are not so severely injured that it results in them fizzling out and dispersing completely, they will begin to reform slowly. After reforming, this is the point where they'll start to feel pains, can bleed, and sustain actual physical injuries. Then, their healing is only slightly accelerated in comparison to when they were an average Terra.

Death
Asters often call fizzling out completely a "death," but their energies return to their leaders when they disperse, just as the Lumin do when severely injured. The only difference is, at this point, they would not be able to reform themselves on their own like a Lumin can. Also, after being dispersed, then revived by their leaders, any injuries they would have sustained by staying intact are not present. However, after revival, many Asters experience temporary symptoms. These vary from a little drowsiness and lightheadedness to a dizzy, utterly seasick feeling, and can last for a few hours or a couple of weeks. Real death would be their energies being destroyed enroute to their leader, which more Mira soldiery would consider doing if these weren't such a hassle to capture, thus taking time away from other Light missions they could interfere with. Though, a tactic some Mira employ is to confiscate the vessels of Asters and strand them, eventually reverting them to their normal selves, and by extension leaving them vulnerable to an average death just as any other Terra.

The Terrestrials, (Terra)

Average Terrestrial Joe
They are borned as normal, and they are died as normal :) Get wrecked Joe

Planets
Terrestrials are born on a wide variety of planets. Planetary terraformation and genetic manipulation has become a norm, so there are many strange and oddly specific planets. Some are themed, while others are not.
Ex. Izzie's planet is medieval themed & fantasy leaning, with very few ""advanced"" technologies, such as morse telegraphs. Much of the planet is still dominated by nature, but with some abnormalities... Aka the "dragons" being gen-modified from snakes, lizards & chickens (+ other birds). There's also a variety of other horrible creatures, along with the normal earthlier ones. It is a place where tourists must be vetted, leaving behind most or all of their possessions. Reason being that the Planet Owner wants the native-borns to be oblivious to the outside world and planets' existence, 'cause it "improves the experience and immersion." (Think Truman show, but there are hundreds of Trumans-)
