Surveillance?
You entered the code; 01134. A code you deciphered from listening to the ancient language of beeps and tones, or just by a little safecracking of your own intuition? (CHEATER!) Either way, to your left, a door begins to slowly unseal a strange room with all the charm of a small, cold cavern. You step in for a quick glance. It is dimly lit by various blues emanating from the scattered holographic "screens" atop simple, sturdy metal fixtures. Creeped out and completely done with... whatever this is, you begin to make your way back towards the door, walking straight into it, and breaking your nose! Well, not really, but it felt like it. Your nose is still intact, alas, just as the door that is now completely blocking your way.
Keeping a sense of cool, hopefully, you search for the metal bolts that could be keeping this door shut. Your flashlight an utter failure as per usual. As you realize you're not going to find anything of the sort, you begin to feel as though someone must be watching your increasingly ridiculous struggle. Yeah, but it's just your paranoia kicking in, probably.
A sudden electrical fizzle went off behind you, could've swore this gave you whiplash. One of the screens had changed. It had widened horizontally, thinned out vertically, and was now showing the live image of someone's two eyes only. It is not clear enough to tell who or what this life form is.
A soft--but distorted--voice asks, "What are you?" Detecting your hesitation, they continued, "Man, Machine, or Felis?"
