ALOLAN GHOST .

"I got a few tricks up my sleeve
I’ve been practicing like you wouldn’t even believe."

YEAHHHH okay I chose this one mostly for the lyrics, what with the multiple references to death and/or the narrator dying. This could be a callback to Kapu returning from the dead or something else, but either way I think the words as a whole fit pretty well

"A crowd of evil spirits join the fray as well
come, let’s dance in the graveyard."

Along with the vibes and lyrics this song just fits him super well ???? The song itself is about life being tough and just wanting to join the dead, ie the dance of corpses. It doesn't view the end as a negative, rather a positive which is what Kapu *mostly* sees it as. Though he's still coping with the loss of his own life, he's still able to live his life to the fullest despite not being among the living ranks anymore.

"I know this is the truth,
'Cause I've been staring at my death so many times. "

Okay look I know it's a fnaf song but it slaps so hard AND it fits Kapu to a T??? He's stared at his death before, quite literally, and he's done it a few times but has just chosen to ignore it. 'Stay up 'till dawn', that's a reference to his constant nightmares and how he just stays awake to combat that. 'Urge to kill to show that I'm alive'? Boom, his fear of being forgotten.

If I had to pick one song in this whole list that's more like Kapu than any other, it's this one it just fits too well

04. SLEEPWALK

Forrest Day

"Bad thoughts give me bad dreams
And my bad dreams make me get up and walk. "

Again with the nightmares, this song is mmooosstly??? For the vibes but also the lyrics, relating to his whole problemo with nightmares and how he constantly has them. Kapu has a sister, while the lyrics do mention this I can't really piece a way it fits in his backstory but we're working on it. In a way, since death is like an eternal rest, Kapu is perpetually sleepwalking? If you want to look at it from that perspective

05. LENT

Autoheart

"Should I stay? Should I go? Should I run far away
To the point where I can't even see the universe? "

I know the song's actual meaning is very, very different than the way I'm about to interpret it but okay just listen

Kapu struggled with the idea of leaving Alola before, and during his first few days as a deceased ghost he was scared of leaving, despite how appealing of an idea it was. He didn't want to leave, but he didn't see a point in staying if people won't notice or see him.

06. GHOST BOY

Widowspeak

"Such a sorry sight
He's see-through, silver and white. "

Both referring to Kapu's state as a whole, but sort of??? Fits his apperance description, even if he's more grey and black than silver and white. He's still on the plane of the living because he has unfinished buisness- he's not ready to move on, he still has so much he wants to do.

07. HAWAIIAN BLACK SAND

The Black Skirts

"The place we knew maybe became a grave
Besides the roses full of memories. "

Personally, I see this song as Kapu talking to or about his family after his death. He wants to be with them, therefore the line about 'my feet are tied here' could refer to his stance as a ghost. The places he and his sister have become graves because of the grief those areas create, becoming nothing more than a husk of memories next to the roses placed in his honor.

"But hunter, you were human
Don't forget it and go safely. "

With the multiple references of once again being dead, there are a few lyrics that reference other parts of Kapu's story. Monsters on your shoulder could be a metaphor for both the monsters of his past, or his pokemon that have stuck with him this whole time. Dead because of his want to be strong- the one treasure he had his sights on ever since he was a kid. Ultimately, that was the thing that got him killed.

09. SOFTCORE

The Neighborhood

"Sharing my heart, it's tearing me apart
But I know I'd miss you, baby, if I left right now. "

Kapu's seen his youth slip away. He's seen his childhood die in front of him, as he lives the remainder of his younger days as a ghost. He's saddened by that fact, of course, but the few people he calls his companions makes it worth it. Sharing his heart with people- sharing his experiences- is a tough subject for him, but he wouldn't change it if it meant he'd have to leave those he loves behind. He might be less than alive, but that's okay.

"My heart is buried in Venice
Waiting for someone to take it home. "

So I see this song relating to him in a few ways- it could be seen as him wanting someone to put his body to rest, the one that is quite literally buried in the ruins of Poni Canyon. It could be seen as him wandering the regions, not actively trying to find someone to keep him company. That doesn't mean he doesn't want it, because he does. Either way, I think this one fits him pretty well, both from a past and present perspective.
