✦ CARR

Carr is a person with very targeted goals - she wants to spread kindness and help wherever she goes. She always makes sure that everyone is included and heard and never refuses to help if something is happening. She's caring and puts other people's lives first, which happened to cause her some trouble.

Bearing the fate that was forced upon her, she feels responsible to use it for good; she refuses to use force and violence until it's completely necessary. Carr is more of a pacifist, trying to solve problems with communication, but can be stubborn, too. She never refuses to fight for herself or people she loves.

Although she appears to be confident, she's insecure and tends to get anxious a lot - she just hides her emotions behind a smile. Her past and everything she went through still weights heavily on her arms, but she refuses to give up to her demons and faces the reality with bravery.

Appearance ✦

Carr has a very pale skin and white hair caused by albinism. She's 1,65m and weights 50kg. She has light blue, big eyes.

When it comes to casual clothes, she prefers to dress comfortably - you can see her in leggings or sweatpants most of the time.

✦ Relationships

AQUARIUS her best friend she met when she stationed in Poland; they clicked together as soon as they got to know each other and shortly after decided to join forces. They sail together around the world and help people in need everywhere they can.

PEPE her best friend from Talon times; Pepe was the first person who she befriended and who gave her so much attention and patience, considering her state of health at the time. They trained together at the shooting range almost every day and she got most of her knowledge from him. He also made her robotic eye and later on, constructed her arm prosthetic.

MOIRA person responsible for her appearance in Talon who managed to tame her illness and brought back her quality of life; even though Carr was used and exploited by her without her consent, she cannot hate her.

SOMBRA Pepe's girlfriend and one of her good friends. They didn't spend much time together, but Sombra kept an eye on her. She was the person who told Carr the truth about her and helped her run away from Talon to seek a better future. Sombra still makes sure that Carr is not in danger and no one knows her true location.

BAPTISTE a good friend she met in Talon; they trained together for a while. Baptiste managed to help her during a few bad flares and kept an eye on her.

REAPER her commander from Talon times; she participated in missions under his command and used to see him around Moira's lab often. They didn't talk much, mostly just answered his orders, and she was genuinely afraid of him for most of the time.

SIGMA an astrophysicist that was recruited to Talon shortly before she left. She didn't get to know him too well, but she enjoyed their little conversations every time Sigma stopped by Moira's lab.

Backstory ✦

Carr, or Charlotte Reid, was born on January 12th, 2053 in Ontario, Canada.

Carr has a rare genetic disorder that affects her immune system - it overdrives her white blood cells to the point that her organism constantly regenerates themselves, even if there is no damage done to her body. In result, this disorder helps her regenerate from any injury within seconds, but it also damages her organism, leading to possible organ failures and further complications. There is no cure for this illness at all and every person having it is destined to die sooner or later. Because of it, Carr spent most of her life in hospitals, fighting for her life. She went through various treatments that were meant to stop the spread and let her have a glimpse of normal life. When she turned 18, her health started declining rapidly and every medication or threatment she was provided stopped working. She finally received her sentence - one more month left to live.

Moira, who at a time researched this illness thoroughly, ordered to reach every currently alive person bearing this disorder and abduct them for the sake of her research. The group of people was very mixed, but everyone went through the same set of procedures - including brainwashing. Carr was the only person who made it through every step, almost at the brink of death, and who provided the most informations about this disorder. Moira realised, that the deadly cells that were killing them could be easily extracted. If used alone, they had a positive effect on various sorts of injuries, healing them in minutes, or even in seconds in mild cases. She also discovered, that there is a healthy amount of the white blood cells that the ill could bear without any bigger damage to their organism. Because of that, she decided to turn Carr into a walking experiment without her consent - a medic healing with her own body. The surgery was long and was meant to implant a special device into her arm, near the collarbone, that gathered the cells and processed them. Then, a set of tubes was ran through her whole arm up to her palm and fingertips, where soft membranes were installed. It was a success - Carr's condition started to revert now that the surplus had an outlet. The convalescence took one month, which Carr spent mostly in hospital bed gathering her strenght, confused, because she knew nothing about herself. Her memory was completely wiped out, she had no knowledge about her past, nor what exactly happened, and Moira decided not to tell her anything about her condition. All she knew was her 'new' name and her age.

Carr by no means was adapted to becoming a soldier, but was forced to do so. She had to be the new addition to the team, a medic that needed nothing else but her own organism to help other people. Unfortunately, her condition left her extremely weak and definitely useless to the team in the beginning, so everyone were sceptical about the decision of recruiting her. She was often belittled or ignored, and mixed with Moira's strictness and harsh treatment, Carr had no courage to stand up for herself nor be assertive. She didn't feel safe around the headquarters, so she mostly roamed around the medical wing only. Her room was also located there, so Moira could keep an eye on her - an unused on-call room with only a bed, a desk, a chair and a wardrobe. The only belongings she had were the ones that they gave to her, which was not much; she received her own set of clothes, a few dishes and utensils, some stationery items and a blanket. To keep herself busy, she was allowed to borrow books from Moira's library. She felt like a prisoner, but she had nowhere to go.

A month after the procedure, she was able to regain enough strength to roam around freely; she still felt weak, needed to show up at Moira's lab for daily tests and had to take various medications (she never got to know what they were for), but at least she wasn't bound to her bed. The enhancement forced on her already proved to be working well, but it had lots of side effects - she had to be heavily monitored daily and not use her healing mechanism too much, as overusing it lead to nosebleeds, dizziness, flare ups and even losing consciousness and further complications. Her whole left arm hurt constantly, too, because of the damage done to it during the surgery. The pain varied depending on the day and how she felt, and how often she used her gear.

This is when she met her commander, Reaper - he wasn't fond of having somebody so young and so weak under his supervision, but it was an order he had to follow. They got to see each other often around Moira's lab and he got to know some bits and pieces of her illness from Moira directly. Carr was genuinely afraid of him so they barely spoke, only if there was an order to be fulfilled. Though, Reaper quietly kept an eye on her later on, so she at least got to go back home from the missions in one piece.

Shortly after, Carr met her best friend, Pepe - a weapon specialist that was commissioned to construct a gun she could use during missions. Carr was sceptical about it, as she didn't want to do any harm, but didn't really had any choice but to obey. Seeing how incompetent and clueless she was, he decided to train her. It quickly became a part of their routine; meeting at 3PM at Pepe's workshop and going together to a shooting range. He was the very first person that Carr befriended and who didn't ignore her completely, and who was patient enough to deal with her. Carr quickly warmed up to her new friend and soon after they started spending quite a lot of time together, with Pepe providing her a shelter on rough days or filling up the basic knowledge about the present world that she lost with her memory.
