Mew

Mew is one of the very first Pokemon ever born, personally created by Arceus as the ancestor of all other non-Pantheon Pokemon and containing a little bit of the genetic code of every Pokemon on Earth. They live in the sacred Sky Pavilion, hanging in the sky above the Sinnohan half of PokePark, mostly just because they don't really have anything better to do, but also because someone's gotta keep an eye on it and make sure it's not falling apart. It's not currently known how they remain so stable physically when holding this much disconnected DNA, especially since attempts to clone Mew have almost always ended in failure due to this exact anomaly, but it's assumed it likely has something to do with magic. Besides, it's not like Mew's going to tell anyone.

Mew is kindhearted and playful, acting like an eternal child and always wanting to play with other Pokemon. They have a bit of a mischievous streak as well, turning themselves invisible to move things around or trick other Pokemon. Though generally pacifistic and more willing to run than fight, they turn out to be surprisingly formidable if push comes to shove.

Mew was considerably less upset by SteelTech Industries' efforts to clone them than anyone expected- in fact, they seem to be rather amused by the fact that some silly Pokemon would be trying to make another Mew! They quite like Flux and consider him their best friend, even if the friendship is slightly one-sided due to Flux's reclusive nature. They don't get along quite as well with most Dittos, however.

Being very important to the biosphere of the Pokemon world, Mew is one of only two Pokemon that are truly immortal, the other being Arceus themselves.
