About 
Caviar grew in an unknown location all by themself, not interacting with anyone or anything. This eventually took a toll on them, and they decided to leave. They fashioned a makeshift raft out of scraps they had around and set sail. Unfortunately, their raft wasn't well made, and they couldn't steer it without getting wet. So, they aimlessly floated across the ocean.

Eventually, after much too long, they drifted to land. They were eager to get away from the water, so they rushed in without thinking and ended up getting splatted with ink. They were very confused, especially when they were approached by someone who looked very similiar to them, apologising in a somewhat-familiar language and handing them a weapon. Little did they know, they had wandered into a turf war and had just met someone of their own species for the first time in their life. They ended up joining the fight, and losing miserably, but at least they got to keep the Splattershot.

After the battle, they followed the other inklings away from the fight into Splatsville, city of chaos, where they now reside. Due to their remote upbringing, they can't speak the common language. They can undestand it, but no one can understand them. This doesn't stop them though, they are happy to remain an agent of chaos with their new trusty Splatroller.
