Quady was born in a large underground Kobold mining community where he was raised in a communal hatchery. As he entered adulthood, he would go on to become one of the best hunters that the den ever had.

One day while he was out hunting, a group of adventurers came across his den and wiped out his community, even going as far as to destroy the eggs in the hatchery. Devastated, Quady spent weeks searching every cave for any survivors. In the end he found only two; a druid named Tawn and a single black egg. This egg was neither Tawn’s nor Quady’s, and earned the name Mirror Coal, after it’s shiny black colour and “miracle” survival.

As the last survivors of their community, Quady and Tawn grew close. They began a relationship shortly after leaving their old home in search of a new life.

Quady took on work as a bounty hunter, eventually finding a career as a bodyguard with one of his potential bounties; Pigsnort the goblin. She offered him more for her protection than he would have received for her surrender –plus dental— and he readily accepted.

It was during this employment that he came across an orphaned baby dragon. He and Pigsnort had gone to study a great displacer beast living under a mountain, and instead found it attempting to consume the young hatchling. As a Kobold, Quady was unable to leave the golden child to fend for itself and he slayed the beast to save the dragon, which he then adopted as his son. Much to Pigsnort’s amusement, he named the child Dragon.
