Profile
AGENT BRIEF
Not much is known of Baek Jaehyun's recent activities. He is a secretive and elusive person, having worked as a mercenary for dark paramilitary group Yeonghon Corp for nearly a decade. No confirmed photos of his uncovered face are known to exist and Jaehyun has little to no digital footprint, making him an extremely difficult individual to track down. He is the younger brother of former high threat level NIS and Interpol Agent Baek Taejun, and is believed to be in contact with his widow, Mockingbird agent Maria Guiffre-Baek.
Much of what is known of Jaehyun has been gleaned from old ROK-SWC and Yeonghon Corp documentation. Despite this lack of information, he is considered to be low threat level, and a possible recruit for the Birdcage.
[!] Unconfirmed, estimated valuations.
Data pulled from archived ROK-SWC evaluations. No recorded data from Yeonghon Corp or encounters with Birdcage personnel. Recorded valuation may not be representative of current abilities.

SHORT DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTIONS HERE
Born into the slums of Outer Seoul, South Korea, Jaehyun had a difficult upbringing. His elder brother, Baek Taejun, left the family as soon as he could to make a better life for himself, leaving behind Jaehyun. From a young age, Jaehyun had to resort to petty theft in order to help support his dad's gambling habit. Though dropped out of school to work full time as a mechanic apprentice, Jaehyun was not able to outearn the interest of his father's debt.
In a desperate bid, he stole a car and joined a small Seoul based street racing gang called the Seoul Blue Tigers. With the Tiger's sponsorship, he participated in competitive illegal street races to win cash prizes (paid in untraceable cryptocurrency). Through these activies he was soon able to pay off the debt, but soon found himself entangled in the drug activities of the Seven Directions Gang, leading to his arrest.
Before he could be prosecuted, however, his older brother Taejun, now an NIS agent, used his connections to absolve him of any convictions. Despite this and all of Jaehyun's support to them over the years, Jaehyun's parents still disowned him. Jaehyun was devastated and traumatized by his run-in with the Seven Directions Gang, and lost of sense of direction for his future. Concerned with his younger brother's lack of direction in life, he advised that Jaehyun complete his compulsory military service.
With few other prospects, Jaehyun enlisted in the Korean Army. He excelled in the initial enlistment training and at its end, he was shortlisted as candidate for the ROK Special Warfare Command. There, he met and became close friends with fellow recruit, Sae Joohyuk. Together they served in the ROKSWC for two years before Sae Joohyuk was contacted by dark paramilitary group Yeonhon Corp. He asked Jaehyun to defect with him.
It didn't take much to convince Jaehyun, who was angry at his family's abandonment of him. He and Joohyuk joined Yeonghon Corp together. Not much is known of their activites in Yeonghon Corp, only that Joohyuk was soon promoted to a captain in their ranks, while Jaehyun preferred to stay as a right-hand man to Joohyuk. During this time, Jaehyun also developed a romantic relationship with civilian Kang Sayeon.
Taejun spent years searching for Jaehyun after he went dark before being able to find him again. Jaehyun had undergone great lengths not to be found by his brother, but Taejun was able to track him down through Sayeon. Jaehyun was not happy to have been found by his brother. The reunion was tense, and the two brothers seperated on even worse footing.
After being found by his brother, he assumed the identity of a fellow mercenary, Lee Eunha, who had died in action, and both he and Sayeon went dark again. He continued to run campaigns in YH Corp until Joohyuk was targeted by an enemy of YH Corp. Both Jaehyun and Sayeon, now his fiance, were with Joohyuk at the time of the attack.
Jaehyun sufferent a laceration injury to his neck which nearly killed him and left lasting damage to his laryngeal nerves, paralyzing his vocal cords and rendering him mostly mute. Neither Joohyuk or Sayeon survived the attack.
After his recovery, Jaehyun enacted vengeance on the perpetrators of the attack. This was his last mission with YH Corp, and he left the paramilitary organisation not long after. He sought out his brother, wishing to make amends, only to find out from his widow, Mockingbird researcher Maria Guiffre-Baek, that Taejun had died some time ago in an assassination made to look like a vehicular accident.
Jaehyun's current activites and movements are unknown. His only known contact is Maria. It is not known if he is currently affliated with any other organisation at this time.
Jaehyun served with Yeonghon Corp for 10 years. Due to the nature of their organisation, YH Corp keeps few documentations regarding their activities so very little is known of his service with YH Corp. According to their files, despite his long service, he remained relatively unpromoted during this time, preferring to stay within the squad led by his friend Sae Joohyuk.
Jaehyun distinguished himself in basic training with his unshakeable tenacity, and was short listed as a candidate for the elite ROK-SWC. He accepted the offer, and went on to serve with the SWC for a couple of years along with Sae Joohyuk. When Joohyk was approached by YH Corp to defect, the friends defected together, stealing a significant amount of classified files in their exodus. To this day, Jaehyun is wanted by the ROK government for this data breach and his unauthorized leave.
The Blue Tigers were a minor street racing gang based in Inner Seoul, Korea. They were affliated with the Inner Seoul Circuit, ran by streamer Man Minam, and had ties to South Korean gang The Seven Directions. Both the Seven Directions gang and the Blue Tigers have been disbanded.

Taejun was Jaehyun's older brother. Though Jaehyun looked up to him when he was younger, his respect of him faltered when Taejun continually left him behind in pursuit of his ambitions.
When Taejun chose to pursue a career advancement and case overseas in France instead of staying with Jaehyun after the falling apart of their family, Jaehyun's respect for him turned into apathy. After enlisting with YH Corp, Jaehyun chose not to contact him again, and in fact tried to become as unreachable as possible.
Taejun was assassinated by Birdcage Agent Pigeon before the brothers could reconcile again.
