Before meeting Jack, Basset was part of an underground fighting ring. He had little money and needed to fight in order to earn enough to support both him and his girlfriend,Missy,who did not support what Basset was doing. After a particularly deep injury on his chest Basset was unable to fight like he used to. Jack found himself in the fighting ring after Basset had challenged him. They both agreed that if Jack won then Basset and MIssy would join him and his crew, but if Jack lost then he needed to give Basset as much money as he could. Jack ends up winning the fight quite easily since Basset had still been recovering rom his previous unjury. Soon ater, Missy and Basset joined Jack and his crew.
