Hugo values his independence, satisfying curiosity, and having a clever comeback above all else. It’s not in his nature to leave things unfinished even if it does take him longer than he expected. His sticktoitiveness is a skill that he has honed since a young age but over the years it has morphed into bullheaded stubbornness. While great for making sure he accomplishes the things that he needs to do, it also means that Hugo tends to waste a lot of time on things that don’t matter. Hugo takes a lot of joy from being right and will not let people forget it should he be proven correct in the end after all. Of course, if he’s wrong then he conveniently forgets the whole situation and insists that he has no idea what the other person is talking about.

Never the one to hide his emotions, whatever expression is on his face is almost always a good indication of how Hugo really feels about something. His demeanor is often jovial and energetic. He loves to talk but more than that he loves to get the last word in. Emotions like anger happen in loud bursts that burn themselves out quickly. Hugo typically recovers quickly from upset and bounces back to his usual upbeat if mouthy self. That being said- Hugo is extremely petty and will commit all the times people have wronged him, even if minor, to memory. Though he’s not the overly vindictive type.

When it pertains to his actions, Hugo exercises excellent self control to not give into impulse. He was always a bright student who picked things up quickly and he is capable of applying that same methodical approach to problem solving when he wants to get serious. When it comes to his words, Hugo is far less restrained. The first thing that pops into his head has a way of ending up as the first thing that tumbles out of his mouth, a fact that has blown up in his face many times.

Backstory

As the son of two witches well known for making house calls when malevolent spirits turn up, Hugo has been studying magic since he could talk. Then again, giving a child a strong grasp of magic is a quick recipe for a trouble maker. As a school boy, Hugo was constantly in trouble with the principal for his magical pranks. But he’s done with school now and is all set to inherit the family business once his fathers retire. Suffice to say… Hugo is really relishing in the time before that happens.

• His face blushes very easily, the slightest cold temperatures is enough give him very red cheeks and nose

• Though he is legally blind, Hugo can read written text so long as it is written large enough and clearly enough (he often still needs a magnifier to read with and carries one in his bag at all times)

• Hugo is neither a morning shower nor a night shower person, if given the time he would choose to shower in the middle of the day
• His two fathers have dualing aesthetics of goth and pastel leading to some very interesting home decor choices
