Mattias is an enigmatically chaotic individual. His only explanation for how a grotty Slav chav like him ended up not only in San Fransico but also entangled with a mostly Vietnamese street racing gang is that he likes spring rolls (???).
Mattias spends much of his time tinkering with his Lada. Though the old thing looks like an absolute clunker, he's outfitted the thing interally like a rocket. Thanks to Red Gang's penchant of racing for pinks to chop shop, they have no shortage of parts, and Mattias's poor Lada is crammed full to the hood. If only he took as good care of the externals as he did with the internals... Many people underestimate Mattias and his lemon of Lada, and that's just fine by him, he's got the trophies to show that he can put his money where his mouth is. And he's got a massive mouth...

Mattia's main money making scheme is reselling random items, and Lucas is one of his favorite clients. Dimwitted Lucas is easily pulled into shitty deals for counterfeit merch. If you see Lucas strutting around proudly in a blatantly knockoff Oof White shirt, you know exactly who sold it to him.
Another reason why Mattias hangs around Lucas is because Lucas is an excellent magnet for violence... as in, if any is happening nearby, Lucas is sure to be tanking it.
Mattias is dying to get involved with Eli and Chandler's project car, but mechanic Chandler is well aware of the tribulations of Mattia's Lada and absolutely refuses to let Mattias anywhere near the project car. Every time Mattias shows up, Chandler has no choice but to arm himself with a wrench to keep the nosy Slav out of his car hood!
Mattias's Lada is often found in neutral mechanic Maria's garage, with Chandler scraping soot off its various burnt out components. Every time Mattias' car is towed into Maria's garage, she gives him an earful. To Mattias, that's just a sign of true love...(Maria does not agree)
