zotzl.
Zotzl is...a lot.
Zotzl is usually unapologetically obnoxious and impulsive, saying literally whatever bizarre thing comes to his mind and rarely thinking beforehand. He has little consideration for others by default, and so scarcely ever tries to refrain from acting like a freak. He does seem to genuinely enjoy it when people find him amusing enough to laugh, though. Zotzl also seems to have no concept of etiquette or manners, and will use the same casual - if not downright crass - tone to talk to everyone in (including royalty!). His overwhelming behavior makes it tough to be around him, and that seems to be exactly what he wants.
Zotzl also occasionally has bouts of moodiness, wherein he becomes significantly quieter and more pensive, and prefers to be distant from the rest of his team. He has admitted he doesn't think highly of himself at all, nor does he view life as having much value; at least, not as much as most people believe. He is open about his hatred of his birth parents, but otherwise doesn't talk much about his background. He can't really bring himself to trust others on a personal level, and absolutely despises when bad people attempt to stake a moral high ground over him. Zotzl's entire time with Fallengarde has been one big exercise in taking him out of his comfort zone and learning to depend on and fight for others.

General gremlin mannerisms. Hands/fingers usually in a 'claw' shape. Expressive ears that twitch/angle toward sources of noise. Occasional twitchy nose not unlike a rodent. Probably bad posture. Pupils will dialate when he sees something he loves.
May 18th, the day Zotzl was born, his three elder brothers were mysteriously killed in a freak accident, the circumstances of which were kept secret from Zotzl. His mother would later miscarry a fifth child, and in her grief and anguish, punished Zotzl for the deaths of her children for nearly his entire childhood. Zotzl, being born with a mutation rare in goblins - a long tail - was considered a cursed being of misfortune and disaster due to superstition, hence why he is blamed for the deaths of the siblings he never met, and all of the family's misfortune that followed.
Zotzl has a secret of some sort that lies in the city of Overvale. He hasn't elaborated on it, but the realization that he and his team's journey would take them through there caused him a great deal of distress and anxiety. Whatever it is, he's deeply afraid of it.
Due to his past experiences hardwired into him before the age of 9 (19), Zotzl has a very ruined perception of the meaning of family, friendship, and trust in general. The worry that everything will flip upside-down on him constantly lurks in the back of his mind. This has happened too many times to him, and it's always painful. If it happens again, well, it's really his fault isn't it? He ought to know better by now.
Kithri might be the person Zotzl places the most trust in - albeit tentative. He admits her proclamations of unconditional love and support are convincing, and honestly that kind of scares him. Nevertheless, Kithri is the teammate Zotzl feels most comfortable around, and will willingly protect and aid her in battle. She knows more about his backstory than the rest of Fallengarde, but even still Zotzl keeps much of his past secret. Zotzl knows he gets on her nerves sometimes, because wildly obnoxious is just how Zotzl be. He views her assurance of friendship toward him as a challenge of a sorts, and he wonders just how long she can keep it up. He's almost afraid to find out.
Ashamane and Zotzl are practically polar opposites in how they act. Zotzl knows Ashamane tolerates him at best, and does get some sort of satisfaction from pushing her buttons. However he never really ends up winning their little spats, since she is the bigger, scarier, and stronger of the two and Zotzl is usually one to flee rather than willingly take on a fight he knows he can't win. Zotzl does sometimes feel genuinely hurt at some of her comments, and is even actually scared of her at times, however he does respect her strength and competence in battle, and takes comfort in knowing she is on the same side as him. He has way more confidence in her abilities than he does of his own.
Idolore was the most recent addition to Fallengarde, and everything about him sends mixed signals to Zotzl. Being an obviously rich guy with all of the rich guy-isms he displays makes him sus in Zotzl's mind, and his shiny sparkly and notably GOLD jewerly make Zotzl want to rob him blind with extreme reckless abandon. But since he's a teammate, Zotzl refrains. Instead he opts to occasionally badger Idolore into giving him money for no reason, which doesn't work. Zotzl openly calls him a filthy stinky capitalist and finds it funny to make him flustered by exhibiting feral behavior, but at the same time Zotzl also finds him interesting as a person. He likes Idolore "in a gold digger kind of way".
