Benji

A fashion designer, a coward, and an Octoling with a very big (yet terrified) heart! Benji is someone of outstanding quality, as he is known by many for his clothing store Reef Fresh! He's quite rich and lives in one of the nicer apartments in Splatsville, aiming to have his designs worn by everyone across the globe! He originates from Octo Valley and was a former member of the Octarian Army, but after hearing Calamari Inkantation, he decided to take a chance to change his future. Unfortunately, that decision led him to the deep sea metro, where he spent a large ammount of his time trying to survive the trials and expirements happening in Kamabo Co. [He escapes 1 year before Octo Expansion to give a bit of context!] AAfter fleeing, he took refuge in Inkopolis for some time and learned the Inkling customs before taking a stab at learning fashion design. Nowadays, he lives in (almost) luxury and spends his free time battling his heart out!

Despite this, he's a nervous wreck and has a hard time making friends or talking to people outside of work. He avoids being alone at night by any means, and does his best to keep himself calm. He continues to dream of the deep sea metro, and is haunted by his past and what he's seen, but he hopes to one day overcome this and stand under the light with his closest person Wasabi.

Fun fact: He has no idea she's an Octoling! They've even seen eachother before back in Octo Valley, but neither remember the interaction.
