Ysgol is a very powerful wizard. He has trained for over 2000 years and has a thirst for knowledge. He has trained with some of the greatest wizards to ever live and now can count himself among them. Although he knows some banned/dark magic, he is not evil. 

Spells

Accepted Magic -
Fire: Fireball, flamethrower, melt, lava, combust.
Water: Drinking water, drown, water blast, extract water.
Wind: Wind blast, tornado.
Flora: Grow flowers, fix trees, friend flora (feel trees emotions), control branches/vines.
Sound: Deafen, throw voices, distort, break language barrier.
Light: Blind, hallucinate, strobe, blackout.
Companion: Summon animal/monster/mythical companions (animals are not alive, but pure magic).

Banned/Dark Magic -
Deconstruction - Can deconstruct a living thing - separate them into parts, remove skin from muscle, muscle from bones and even separate veins, intestines and fat from everything else.
Inanimate - Turn someone into an in inanimate object. This is banned due to the fact it's so hard to turn people back. The only way to tell if an object was someone is the weird body temperate of the object. The person is conscious the whole time and can feel pain/hot/cold.
Dissection - An expert level of anatomy knowledge is required for this. You have to visualise every vein, muscle, ligament, layer of skin you are cutting through. Without this knowledge the spell will simply not work. The spell allows the user to slice through limbs/body at a distance.
Control - He can take control of the enemies body, make them move how he wants, but can also break bones. This also requires a huge amount of anatomical knowledge.

Items - 
Unicorn horn wand - taken from a dead unicorn (natural causes).
Shrinking staff - can be kept in the users pocket, but will spring into a full sized staff upon activation.
Liars cup - whoever drinks from this cup will tell the truth for one minute.
Magic bow - This bow can shoot magical arrows. Ysgol knows fire arrow, ice arrow, poison arrow, explosive arrow, boomerang arrow (will come back on command).
