Nera's adoptive parents had already long since given up their hope for a child, when they found an abandoned baby in a basket on their way home after the church service. Upon closer inspection, the child had white wings and for a moment they were convinced that she was a gift from God who sent one of His angels down for them. They did quickly realize she was an occult creature, a sky siren. Nobody seemed to have any clue where she had come from, so they raised Nera as their own as best as two humans living in an isolated mountain village of Viù in Northern Italy could.

She was raised Very Catholic, so much it formed a base pillar of her identity. Since she was a gift from God, she had to live her life according to God's plan in return. The church became her safe haven from the childhood teasing she received from fellow kids of the village in school, and quickly developed a superiority complex to cope, pushigh her to be even more of the perfect dove of God. She joined the choir and learned to play the harp and the lyra in her spare time, and her parents highly encouraged her musical endeavors. She often received solo parts in the choir performances, which further bolstered her feeling of superiority. She never really thought about there being other people like her in the world till her late teens.

When she turned 17, Nera started to more seriously consider trying to find her birthmother. She would always consider her adopted parents as her mamma and pappa, but she started to get interested in the wider world and learned about her own kind. She contacted SpectreCorps to help her locate her mom, and a little while after her 18 birthday, they managed to meet up for the first time since she was a newborn. Her mother explained that she had not been ready for a child, ostracized from her colony at the time, and left her in a basket in a spot he knew good people would find her. The meeting gave Nera conflicting feelings, but in the end she was glad she could meet her. She put in her application to work for the organization that helped her reunite, and wishes to help others do the same!

Outwardly, Nera is the picture of innocence, a perfect girl. She acts charitable and kind, and loves to be at the center of the attention. She seems like a pure of heart kind of person... But under that shiny veneer there's a spoiled girl with a superiority complex that slips through the cracks.

She thinks she is better than everyone else, since she is the Most Special Person in the world. It can make her act spoiled and entitled, as she assumes everyone will automatically cater to her. She will brag about all ger accomplishments and status to anyone who can stand to listen and believes it will make people admire and love her. She can be very judgemental to those that aren't immediately taken by her, or just don't adhere to her values.
