Bio

content warning: ableism

Falconstar has never known a time when CliffClan wasn't struggling. He grew up malnourished, never growing as large as other cats. The population was dwindling, so warriors were encouraged to have kits. Falconshriek had kits with a cat he didn't love--the only one not a stillbirth was Hawkkit. He soon became leader because no one else was willing. He tried hard to be a good father, but it wasn't easy with his responsibilities and the pressure to raise Hawkkit as his successor. Not to mention, there was a deadly illness within the clan.

On the day Hawkwings was named a warrior, he and Falconstar went hunting to celebrate. They were attacked by a wild dog which bit off Hawkwings' leg. Falconstar slew the dog, but his son was already bleeding out. The clan lacked herbs, so if Hawkwings was treated, other warriors would die. Falconstar left his son for dead. This broke something in him forever; he realized he was destined for the Dark Forest.

He decided that if this was his fate, he would bear the burden of evil so no future leader would need to sin again. He banished weak or disabled cats he considered a burden on the clan. This diminished the population further, but left the most skilled warriors with more resources. He created extremely rigid and demanding schedules for those remaining. Though his actions were cruel, the clan has managed to persist under his leadership.
