An Inkopolis native who's life gained a direction when she met her current partner(?) and Bandmate Tiara. While not quite harboring the same drive for stardom, she's more than willing to put in the effort if it means more people are watching her. Also, she's goth.

Queen is a calm, confident, and self assured presence. She's the one to control conversations and direct people where she wants to go. Her usual actions can often come across as bitchy, which yeah they kind of are. People often think she's too self absorbed to care about anyone else, and while she doesn't do anything to expel this image it's not true either. She is very attentive to the wants and needs of her friends, even if she does her best to hide it. She doesn't plan far into the future, but she rarely goes into any specific situation without at least a little bit of preperation on hand.
She doesn't often initiate interactions with random people, and they rarely with her. On her end she's usualy focused on something else, and isn't thinking about other people as she's moving about. The others don't approach her because of her intensity of her personality.
Queen is one half of a duo band she and her bandmate Tiara are trying to get off the ground, named RoyalSea. Queen plays the keyboard, which she'll often use to substitute other instruments, and provides secondary vocals. A few years of stagnent practice has left her feeling unsure about the future of the band. She knows something needs to change but she just isn't sure what that is.
Her life isn't unplanned, she makes sure all her bases are covered, food, rent, etc. but she doesn't have any grand plans for the future either, besides the band.
She generally responds to situations in a controlled, if aloof manner, rarely letting her emotions color an everyday encounter. However, if something managed to break through her shield (usually anger), she will quickly start to lose that control and let her emotions run free.
From a distance it seems that she doesnt pay attention to her friends, but they know better. She has problems expressing her feelings towards people, so she covers that up with disinterest.

To most, Queen seems distasnt and cold. At best dismissive of those around her and at worst actively antagonistic. She'll take most chances she can to make herself look good. She never shies away from whatever it is she plans to do, attacking it with a confidence that is more often than not deserved.

People who spent time around Queen come to learn that the aloof persona is just that, a persona. They don't know why she does it, but they realize that she's actually rather attentive to what they say or need, despite her outward dismissiveness. The confidence she usualy wears, however, isn't an act. Queen is a powerful person when she wants something done, and isn't afraid to get her hands to get something done.

Despite her attitude twords her friends, she still pushes most people away just enough that they don't truely become close to her. Those very few who are can see Queen for who she really is. A worried but dedicated person, who would move mountains if it means easing the burdens of those she cares for. She worries for them constantly, which she hides in her aloof persona.
Backstory
Childhood
Queen's parents were always busy with work. She was often bored and overlooked as a child. By the time she was 8 she was often left home alone for days at a time.
She lived in a quiet isolated agaony until she was 12. While outside walking one day, she meets Mavi and Tiara. The three become fast friends. They never play at Mavi's house because her mom actively disliked Queen.
When Mavi's mom leaves she begins to visit her friend's house frequently. It's the most fun she's had in her life. She's happy with her friends.
When Mavi's dad dies, her mom returns, and effectively bans Queen from the house. Mavi slips into a disassociative state and anxiety takes over Tiara's life. Queen herself feels her depression take control as she slowly gets drug deeper into the empty void of nothing that lined her childhood.
It's a phone call from Mavi that kickstarts her journy into recovery. Tiara's hand was broken by Mavi's mom, Queen quickly drives her to the hospital where it's saved, but not without permanet damage. To Queen, the thing that was aved that day was her sense of purpose. Her friends, right in front of her were why she ever was able to do anything, so she dedicates herself to them as a reason to fight her depression.
The next month they spend preparing to move out on their own, and the day that Mavi turns 18 they do.
After the first few months of their new lives, Tiara and Queen "start" RoyalSea.
- Queen's base design isn't particularly complicated, with just a few key things to note.
- The basic traits that make her different from a human aren't unique to Queen, but are a result of Splatoon's character design, and the design of Octolings as a whole.
- The biggest thing to note with Octoling characters is that they don't have hair, instead they have tentacles on their head that look similar, but are distinct. For all intents and purposes, they function like hair and hair styles, just with a different different outline shapes and texture.
- Their eyes have a small black mask around them.
- Octoling's ears are rounded, and point out from the side of their head.
- Her Tentacles (hair) are symetrical, and each of her bangs are cut square, and has a sucker in the center of them.

APPEARENCE
Skin Tone: Queen's Golden Almond skin glows in the sunlight. In the summer time she'll spend some time tanning to keep her glow healthy and bright.
Tentacles: Her peach colored tentacles run down her back and curl up at the end. She there's a slight gradient near the end that fades into a pink. She'll often apply a gloss to it so she has matching spots like Tiara. She cuts her her bangs in a square shape, they rest right above her eyes.
Freckles: She has a light dusting of freckles across her nose and around her eyes.
Nose: Her nose is a bit big, but doesn't stand out on her face.
Eyes: Queen's eyes are a bright pink. Her eyelashes are a modest length, they naturally accentuate her eyes well. She'll often use a modest amount of orange mascara and eye shadow to highlight her eyes. Her eyebrows are thin and usualy covered by her bangs.
Mouth: Her lips are full, but rarely does she wear lipstick. She keeps her teeth clean, but often smiles without showing her teeth.
Ears: Queen's ears are rounded. She pierces both of them.
Arms/Hands: She keeps active enough that her arms have a bit of muscle on them, not that you'd ever see it. Her hands are normal sized, and her fingers are a bit stocky. They fade from the golden almond of her skin to the same pink as the ends of her Tentacles.
Legs/Feet: She's quite fit, her legs have a lot of muscle. Her feet are very caloused from running around in Turf Wars.

Bow
Overview: Queen is a poised, calm, and self assured presence. She moves with condifence and deliberation, and while she's not typically loud, people know where she is. She always punctuates her primary thoughts with sharp hand movements, but she's relatively still in converation otherwise.
Emotions: She tends to keep a level head and make smart decisions, until her emotions start running hot. The bigger the emotion, the less thought goes into her actions.
Ego: Queen's ego, while not necessairly humble, isn't an overbearing force in her life. She knows when to let her pride take a hit now to win the war later. Only issue is that she tends to forget about upholding her reputaition when she's emotional.
Aura: She typically has a calm, condifent, and self assured air about her. The confidence is partially fake, about a 60% 40% split give or take. Those who know her can see right through the act.
Work Ethic: If Queen wants something done, she'll see to it herself that it happens. She doesn't trust that other people will get it done properly, even if those people are trained profesionals and she has zero idea what she's doing.
CASUAL: Queen is the walking personification of romantic goth. Belle sleeves, lace, high necks, blouses, long layered flowy skirts, bows, heals, leggings and so on. She never deviates from this style, with turf being the only exception.
SEASONAL DIFFERENCES: The only thing that changes over the seasons is the amount of skin she shows. Summer opens the way for open shoulders, exposed hands and light skirts, wearing all black tends to warm one up quite a bit. The colder it is the more she covers.
OTHER COMPONANTS: You won't see Queen without her signature bow on top of her head. Occasionally she'll swap parts of her outfit for fishnet equivalents, generally on days with nothing planned or particularly hot days.
FORMAL: For formal events, Queen just steps her game up. Bigger, fancier dresses, nicer corsets, longer gloves, but still that romantic goth style.
Rough: When it comes time to get rough Tiara's not afraid to ditch her frills to fight. Athletic shorts, tank top, sneakers, and some turf-rated fingerless gloves is all she needs to acomplish her tasks.
Bow: Queen's iconic bow is a critical part of her look. A black, pollyanna bow sits with a slight tilt to once side, typically her left.
Earrings: She prefers simple dot earings to anything extravigent, but has a few nicer pairs for when she wants them.
Mascara: A light amount of orange eyeshadow and mascara combine to accentuate her eyes. It's not much more than a thin outline below her eyes, but it suits her nicely.
Tattoo: A small black heart tattoo sits under her left eye. It matches the one under Tiara's right eye. They got them together when Tiara turned 19 "as a sign of friendship"
Choker: She owns chokers that are tin and frilly, but typically wears a simple, thick black choker. It's the only part of her outfit that you could consider "inconsistant" with her aesthetic, and even then it doesn't stick out much.
Necklaces: If she wears a necklace, it will be something simple, dark, and in the theme of her outfit.
Gloves: Her gloves are more form over function, thin- transparent fabric accentuating her hands more than protecting them. She has other that cover the fingers she uses often.
Belts: Her belts are less about holding her clothes up and are more a piece of decoration to help accent them. Delicate designs to wrap around her mid-section can really bring an outfit together,They don't go with every outfit.
Boots: She has a range of boots she chooses from. They all very frim 1-3 inch heals, but they all fit the general aesthetic. Her roughly go to her knees, the others rest lower.

Piano: Queen started piano lessons at a very young age. As she grew and became more rebelious and independent, the piano lessons were the one thing she would make a consistant effort to go to. She considered quitting several times, but each time Tiara asked her not to, so she didn't.
Cooking:After the first week of living on her own, surviving on take out, Queen decided that something needed to be different. She marched to the grocery store and bought a bunch of ingredients, and then looked up tutorials online. Ever since, she's been steadily improving, making a variety of different dishes. She regularly brings food with her to share with Tiara (and Mavi by extension).
Turf:Queen is the only person in her friend group who truely plays turf for the competition over the sport. She's the highest rank on her team, and often hearlded as a "force of nature" on the battlefield. She's 11th in the world for most splats in a single (winning) round.
Looking Bored: Queen's resting face is an impassive, bored one. She typically defaults to this face when she's not actively emoting. Often, people will think she's bored or uninterested in what they're saying, even if she's actually listening closely. It doesn't help her case that she often is actually bored and uninterested. You can tell if she's actually invested or not by her eyes, if they're looking at you while you talk she's actually interested.
Perching or Sprawling: When she is relaxing, she will do one of two things. Sprawl out, taking up as much space as she can, or find the highest place she can sit, sometimes going as far as to stack pillows and blankets to go higher.
Growling: When Queen is mad she will quite literally growl at people. It's always accompannied by an angry glare and sometimes balled fists. This carries over into when she is battling, when cornered or forced to retreat she'll often growl in frustration.

Queen has a bit of an upper class accent. Her words are very smooth and flow together. She talks in a sarcastic and aloof manner, generally being "mean" to anyone she's talking to, though usually there's no actual venom behind the words. The angrier you get her, though, the more that formal and refined speech fades away, leaving a clipped and loud voice behind, and a lot more vulgarity in her vocabulary. She often gives endearing nicknames to whoever she is talking to, but typically in a condescending way. Tiara is the only one the names seem genuine for.

RELIABLE: If Queen says she'll be somewhere and doing something, she'll be there doing it. Barring exceptional circumstances, when Queen agrees to something she'll hold up her end. The hard part is getting her to agree to something.
PHYSICAL STRENGTH: Queen is incredibly strong. She's never afraid to do physical work that needs done, and she regularly plays turf with a roller. She won't be around winning strongman competitions, but she's who you call if you need your fridge moved.
PATIENT: Queen is weirdly patient with people. It's rare for her to have someone either doing something for her or learning from her, but on these rare occasions she's incredibly patient with them.
TEMPER: In most situations Queen is able to keep a level head but when she's properly ticked off her emotions (usualy anger) gain full control, making her act rashly and agressively.
EGO: Some of Queen's outward presentation is an act, but there is a considerable amount of ego backing her performance. It's not overpowering, there are times she lets her ego take hits, but combined with her temper is can also cause disasterous results.

COMPETITION IS A VIRTUE: Queen firmly believes that if there's a competition you are part of, it is your solem duty to do everything in your power to win it. Don't compete if you're not going to give it your all.
EFFORT: If something is worth giving effort, giving it as much as you are able is the best thing to do. To phrase it differently: anything worth doing is worth doing poorly.
PEOPLE DESERVE TO BE LEFT ALONE: If someone doesn't want to interact or talk with other people, they are completely justified in their silence. No person should be forced to interact just because ONE of them wants to talk.
Queen's self doubts, the things that bother her about herself.
SHE'S WORTH ANYTHING BUT HER STRENGTH: Queen worries that she's only useful for her strength. That no one values her opinions or thoughts, or comes to her for ideas.
SHE'LL BE ABLE TO KEEP GOING EVENTUALLY She struggles enough as it is to get basic things done, ony mnaging to do things for Tiara, and never herself.
THAT'S SHE'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR TIARA: Queen doesn't feel like Tiara deserves someone like her. She feels like she does basically nothing for anyone, and can barely do things for herself, Tiare deserves someone better.

ABANDONMENT: She's not scared by being left alone for a few days at a time, it's permanent/long term abandonment that scares her. She and Tiara act as anchors for eachother, and she's afraid that without that she'd lose everything.

Queen struggled to do, well, anything. It's not a lack of capibility, or a lack of drive, it's just simply an inability. It drives her insane. She manages to keep up with her health for the most part, and she does Turf in part to keep active but mostly to keep people from being worried. The only other exception to her rule is Tiara, she finds it a lot easier to do things for her friend than it is to do things for herself.
