Nyoka

Backstory

CONTENT WARNING: s*exual *buse, s*icide and human trafficking

Born Kyong Seo-Jun, he and his mother were refugees from North Korea that escaped to South Korea and then the US where they became victims of human trafficking. They did not have access to their own documents and despite the fact that Kyong was very young (8-ish) he and his mother were both forced into physical labor through methods of violence, fraud, and deception. His mother was subjected to sexual labor as well. Kyong’s mother died when Kyong was probably in his early-mid teens due to the extreme abuse and forced exertion by their captors. After which Kyong’s captors began to subject him to sexual labor. After two or so years of this, Kyong attempted to take his own life, at which point his captors sold him off to a nameless organization that was performing unregulated and experimental medical trials on human subjects.

A very experimental brain surgery was performed on Kyong to try and give him the ability to remotely tap into and aggravate the ids of other people, making them aggressive, irrational, and suggestable. This included small and deeply implanted cybernetic implants as well as biological alterations. The operation greatly damaged the nerves connecting to his left eye and left leg, rendering both partially nonfunctional. After the operation, Kyong used his newfound powers to escape the facility he was being held in and find out the people who had done this to him: a small shadow corporation called Nyoka, a secret subsidiary of BrighTech Medical Technologies. After taking time to bring together a small army-like gang with his powers, Kyong stormed the home of Nyoka’s owner and CEO, and forced him to leave the company to Kyong in his will, in exchange for the CEO’s life and the lives of his family. After that, Kyong shot and killed the CEO, effectively becoming the new owner of Nyoka.

Current Life

Kyong liquidated all of Nyoka’s assets and gutted the company, turning it into a dummy corporation to launder money through and using said money to fund his personnel as well as open his casino. He changed his name to Nyoka as a way of fully claiming his new abilities and identity. He was no longer the abused immigrant boy he used to be. He was a wealthy, powerful, ruthless, and manipulative supervillain ready to make Silver City bow at his feet. .

Currently his life is devoted to running his casino and accumluating power and influence wherever he can, as of right now he has no overarching goal. He's well known among the superhuman community with both heros and villains, and welcomes all circles into his casino as long as they abide by the rules. He operates as part mob boss and part supervillain, with his main practicies being debt collection, blackmail, and extortion but he does throw the occasional scheme.
