Null

Null is...well, Null is something, alright. Absolutely no one knows how they came into being or what exactly they are, but it's known that they've only ever been seen on Cinnabar Island, most often on the eastern shore. Much as their origins are a mystery, Null's personality is a bit of a mystery, too- they generally seem like they don't want to do any sort of harm, but their actions are alien and erratic, following a thought pattern that seemingly only they can understand. They show up whenever Pokemon go swimming on Cinnabar's eastern shore, regarding them with what seems to be curiosity.

Just seeing Null can cause some strange things for Pokemon that encounter them- often, they'll find that they have many more of that one special thing they were saving to use than they thought they did, or they'll come to the Hall of Fame and find everything completely out of whack- though they're often the only one that sees it that way. Null seems to be able to subtly alter reality in several peculiar ways, but only for those who have seen them at least once.

As far as anyone can tell, they're a ???-type, but experimental Poke-Analyzers display Null's primary type as "Bird", one of many odd subnames of ???.
