Emil

An Au Ra from one of the many constantly warring Xaela clans, Emil left home under the promise of prestige from the mainland's Hall of Heros. His clan does not enjoy the idea of his departure; they are extremely loyalist and cling tightly to their members as they duke it out with the other Xaela clans. Though the Hall has opened Emil's eyes to what life is like outside (and he far prefers it), he can't bring himself to cute ties completely and travels back and forth to his nomadic clan whenever he recieves word they'll be on a coastline.

Living in the Hall and having the chance to make his own life what he wants has been incredibly freeing for Emil, and he's made a good friend (and secret crush) in Lennox, a quiet elezen studying there with him. If he wasn't afraid it would get him disowned he would by far prefer to stay on the mainland indefinitely. Unfortunately, his split loyalty isn't popular with his clan and they eventually arrest his constant back-and-forth and effectively kidnap him back into their ranks to aid in war efforts for dominance - leaving Lennox alone and confused waiting for his friend to come back for graduation.

Emil is a very kind and mild young man, somewhat of a surprise considering his origins. Though he is well-meaning, he's also kind of oblivious, and a bit too inwardly-focused to pay enough attention to the world around him. He isn't self-absorbed, exactly, so much as he worries about his own image and trying to please as many people as possible. He struggles with commitment and shies away from consequences even when he knows deep down there is no middle ground that can exist.
