Eclipse's Comments

Spies Never Die, Spies are Forever

Blaise has taken the phrase 'married to your job' and 'til death do us part' to an entirely new level. Dedicated to the art of espionage, Blaise is a seasoned spy with years of experience under their belt, and it would seem that even dying would not be enough to deter them from continuing their life's work. After quite literally dying from being caught the first time, it would seem that Blaise did not learn their lesson.

They've teamed up with a gaggle of mischievous ghost-types, and formed their own squadron of Pokemon dedicated to the art of espionage and spying. This war is turbulent and claiming far too many lives - not that Blaise cares. What they do care about is knowledge. Knowledge is power...knowing your allies is good, and knowing your allies is even better.

And so, that is why they find themselves in the Cresselia allegience. While many might consider themselves proud members of the allegience, Blaise is here strictly for personal business. They take down notes on the strange rituals here, the beliefs...the power structures, and they squirrel that information away. They will keep it close to their heart, for now, and resist the urge to sell that information to the highest bidder.

In another time, in another place, Blaise gracefully used their grace and charm to win the hearts of many Pokemon and trainers alike, only to rob them all blind, or stab them in the back, or whatever the highest paying person wanted them to do. But...that was in the past. They are desperately trying to convince themselves it won't be like this this time; if only because if a ghost dies, where do they go? However, the allure of selling that information only grows, day by day....

This Pokémon is named Crescent, often colloquially called Cress, and within the Cresselia allegiance they work alongside the lead archivist Skye to manage and keep records for the allegiance’s main library within Mount Luna!

Cress has a deep fascination with stories, both real histories and fictional tales, and as such was immediately attracted to Cresselia’s library for its wide array of materials and particularly thorough archives. He joined the Cresselia faction to have access to these resources, having been in the neutral faction before. Cress didn’t expect he’d be recruited as anyone notable— he just wanted to help out around where he could and hide in the library until the war was over— but either luckily or unluckily for him, Skye took a shining time him.

Skye, the eccentric historian and lead librarian, noticed Cress was often in reading and pouring over the material— and that Cress seemed intent on reading the entire history of the region, of embarking on the journey of walking back through time with primary documents, secondary sources and collected artifacts. Admiring the dedication of Cress and hoping to use his knowledge to help other mon in the library archives, Skye offered them a job as his assistant. That’s how Crescent got here— working as the second in command of the archivist for Cresselia— and he’s still just as quiet and bookish as ever. While his “customer service” skills are not the best, his knowledge of the archive is unmatched even by its keeper on account of his immaculate memory— and Crescent can always find what you’re looking for, no matter how vague or incomplete the description.

Overall, the Cresselia faction is more than just work to Crescent though. He joined the faction to learn, and he views his position as an archivist as a way to help other pokemon learn too! He really enjoys helping other mon find the knowledge they’re seeking so they can further their studies as well. He has strong loyalties to Cresselia because the factor has empowered him and his learning, as well as the academic goals of so many other pokemon. For that he can never be thankful enough.

Eclipse is held in high regard within the Cresselia Allegiance, mainly on their name alone. Eclipse doesn't mind this treatment, since it gets them quite a bit of perks and leeway when they do things that might go against Cresselia's core values, usually witnesses turn a blind eye, or if they do speak up they aren't usually believed. "Eclipse wouldn't do that" they would say, but ultimately Eclipse would do that.
Do what exactly?
Having close relations with the Darkrai Allegiance. Eclipse has been spotted with another eeveelution fusion, a red umbreon with fire streaking down their back. An agent of Darkrai known as Phoenix. Eclipse feeds Phoenix information about Cresselia Allegiance movements, who in turn takes that information back to Hierophant Luciferus, the head of the Darkrai Allegiance.
Though Eclipse worries their time in Cresselia is running out, more reports are coming through and higherups are getting more suspicious. Eclipse soon fears this information will reach High Priestess Luna, and Eclipse fears what the judgement of the High Priestess may bring. though, despite their worries, Phoenix has reassured Eclipse that they have a place in the Darkrai Allegiance if the time ever comes when Eclipse is found out and ousted from Cresselia. This information comforts Eclipse, and motivates them to continue their work as a spy, if only to earn further favor from the Darkrai Allegiance.

This pokemon is incredibly passionate about their role in the Cresselia Allegiance, but not for the reasons you'd expect. They can be compared to a freedom fighter in terms of their actions against the Darkrai Allegiance. They are extremely battle oriented, talented at strategizing and will often put together teams and stage attacks at various Darkrai posts, looking to weaken their forces. In their eyes, there is no soft way to handle the Darkrai Allegiance, and they need to be dealt with swiftly and even somewhat violently in order to preserve the light in the land. They are unabashedly unrepenting about all actions they take concerning the Darkrai Allegiance, and their concise handling of the war has led them to rise to the position of a mock General among the Cresselians. Some note that they are flawed in this way as well - they rarely take the time to participate in social events, too focused on planning another attack on a Darkrain post or supplier. Outsiders view them as cold for their rough and calculating exterior, though they have a small handful of friends they care about - but it's not like they have much time to hang out or even take a breath when the encroaching darkness threatens Kiuwi every moment of every day.
