" I love listening to the sounds of songbirds, but somehow, this is even better! "

BOOGARDEN .

"A dozen crows and then some on the rhododendrons
in the cemetary where I lay
like Rebecca reigning over Manderly
my foot fell upon your grave"

This song is really beautiful, and the tone fits Boogarden very well. The religious undertones also add to the association. It also fits Rosemaryrune and Rookcall.

"Just the two of us
we can make it if we try"

I legitmiately stole this song from Vulturelurk's playlist (sorry, Asriel), but it fits Passerine very well! I adore the silly kitties hehe :D

03. NOT THE GHOST

The Crane Wives

"If only I could break the chain of disappointments
weighing me down
shake off the ghosts that whisper warnings
whenever you're not around"

This song is the first song I ever added to Boogarden's (private) playlist, and I adore it. The feeling of hopelessness and regret reminded me of Boo's many struggles, and the guilt she feels about her family's deaths.

04. JENNY OF OLDSTONES

Florence + The Machines

"High in the halls of the kings who were gone
Jenny would dance with her ghosts
the ones she has lost and the ones she had found
and the ones who had loved her the most..."

Now this. This is the most essentially Boogarden song I could think of. The various mentions of 'ghosts' could mean StarClan, who she talks to each half-moon, as a medicine cat. The ones she had lost (Cardinalpine, Swampeace Frightspecter) and the ones she had found (Vulturelurk, Frogmorn, Sequoiatower)... Not all of those cats are dead, but they were ones she found. StarClan's ranks are large, and many of them have been lost of time, their struggles and victories, their actions and thoughts, simply... fading away.

"Try and complicate my thinking
am I falling, am I sinking?"

I don't have much reasoning for this one- I just think it's a nice song.

"Scattered 'cross my family line
God I have my father's eyes
but my sister's when I cry"

Family Line is about Boogarden's struggles with her family- from Sea-snakeshiver and Sealscuttle existance, Cardinalpine and Swampeace's respective deaths and Frightspecter's disappearance, to the struggles of being descended from numerous leaders- Belligerentstar, Bunnystar, Beestar and Furstar, to name a few. She will always be associated with her family, no matter how hard she tries- leading to the line 'I can run but I can't hide, from my family line.' She has her 'father's eyes'- well, one of them- her '(brother's) when she cries', and she's a 'good liar'- thanks, Swampeace, for splitting up three kits and lying about their existence.

07. VOILÁ

Barbara Pravi

"VoilĂ , voilĂ , voilĂ , voilĂ  qui je suis
ne voilĂ  mĂȘme si mise Ă  nue c'est fini"

Those lyrics roughly translate to 'Here, here, here, this is who I am / Here I am, even if I'm exposed, it's the end / Here I am, in the noise and in the fury too.' How does this fit Boogarden, you ask? Well, she is here. She's constantly living her life, unafraid of what other people think. She stands, alone, in the 'noise and the fury', the whirlwind of perpetual life.

08. WILLOW TREE MARCH

The Paper Kites

"Yeah, we all still die
what will you leave behind?"

Legacy. As I said in the Family Line description, Boogarden has inherited a large legacy spanning several generations and several years. What will she do? What will she leave behind? Will she just be another medicine cat, in ThunderClan's long history? Or will she be something more?

09. PLIOCENE

Cosmo Sheldrake

"We danced with our heads on
we couldn't wake up from our dreams"

Okay, in my defence, I was planning to put this song on here before I even looked at Vulturelurk's playlist. It's a genuinely good song that reminds me of Boogarden, with the natural themes.

"And then she smiled
that's what I'm after
a smile in her eyes
the sound of her laughter"

Oh, would you look at that, it's another Passerine song. Oops. This is a genuinely sad song, though, and I really like it. It's the vibes, guys, the vibes.
