Bloomfire is an elder of ShadowClan. She was born to Bluerain and Carrottail alongside her brother, Rainheart. She was mentored by Ashcloud and formed a strong bond with Flameheart during their apprenticeship. She earned her warrior name a few moons before him. As soon as he joined her as a warrior, they became mates. They intended to have kits of their own, however when Rainheart and Poppywing died, leaving their kit orphaned, she was asked to raise him as her own. Bloomfire agreed to raise him with Flameheart, and went along with her brother's request to name him Bloodkit.
Bloomfire loved and cared for Bloodkit as much as any mother would. During Bloodpaw's apprenticeship, she and Flameheart decided to have kits of their own; Cardinalkit, Applekit, Heatkit, and Foxkit. After the truth about Bloodfur's parentage was revealed, Bloodfur was furious with his foster parents for lying to him and turned his back on them. Bloomfire was glad when Bloodfur forgave her and returned to ShadowClan. She was devastated when Flameheart died in the battle against Deserve's Army, but spends lots of time with her kits, as well as her grandkits, Autumnfire, Stormspirit, Tigerstripe, Cinderspeck, and Nightblossom.
After the battle against Rosemary's Army, she retired to the elders' den.
Bloomfire is an orange she-cat with white paws, muzzle, and chin, dark ginger ears, green eyes.
"But I have great news! One of your kits is alive! He was hidden in the blood and moss."
Bloomfire is bright spirited and often tries to look at the positive side of a situation. She is very close with her family.

Carrottail is Bloomfire's father. During her apprenticeship , he retired early due to a leg injury. Bloompaw, Rainpaw, and Bluerain visited him in the elders' den often and told him about their training.
Rainheart is Bloomfire's brother. They were close growing up, and she tried to stop Rainheart from ending his life. She was heartbroken by the loss, but fulfilled his dying wish to name his kit Bloodkit. She raised him as her own.

Flameheart is Bloomfire's mate. They fell in love as apprentices, and she supported him during his assessment. They became mates, and though Flameheart wanted kits of their own, he agreed to raise Bloodkit as their own. Later, they did have their own litter. Flameheart was very proud and loved his family. Bloomfire was heartbroken when Flameheart died.
Bloodfur is Bloomfire's nephew, but she raised him as her own after the deaths of Rainheart and Poppywing. Bloomfire loved and supported him as much as any mother would. She never believed he was a bad omen. After learning the truth about his parentage, Bloodfur was angry with her, but later forgave her and Flameheart. He loves and respects Bloomfire very much.
Cardinalpaw is Bloomfire's son. She loves her kits very much. She grieved deeply when Cardinalpaw died and was horrified to learn Bloodfur killed him.
Heatstorm is Bloomfire's son. She loves her kits very much. But Heatstorm would not let go of his hatred for Bloodfur, and Bloomfire was unable to reach her son and grew distant from him.
She was shocked and distraught to learn of his betrayal and death.

Kithood
Bloomkit was born in ShadowClan to Bluerain and Carrottail alongside her brother, Rainkit.
Apprenticeship
Bloompaw is apprenticed and receives Ashcloud as her mentor. She often visits her father, Carrottail, in the elders' den to tell him about her training and cheer him up. She and Rainpaw are sometimes amused at the obvious affection between their mentors, Ashcloud and Greenpine. She playfully teased Rainpaw about his obvious feelings for Poppypaw, however during her apprenticeship, she grew very close with Flamepaw.
Young Warrior
Bloomfire earned her warrior name and couldn't wait for Flamepaw to join her so they could spend time together. She supported him during his assessment, during which two foxes attacked. She fought bravely to defend Timberpaw and Copperpaw and received a leg bite that healed. Stormstar sacrificed himself to the fox so that the group could escape.
She was very proud and happy when Flameheart earned his warrior name, and they almost immediately became mates. She joined him for training sessions with his apprentice, Stripedpaw.

Mother
Bloomfire tried to reassure her brother Rainheart while his mate, Poppywing, was kitting. After Poppywing dies, Bloomfire discovers a surviving kit hidden in the blood and moss. She rushes to tell Rainheart the good news, but he proceeds with his suicide, asking her to name the kit Bloodkit. She and Flameheart agree to raise Bloodkit as their own and hide the truth about his true parents and birth.

"Great StarClan, Rainheart! Stay still for a moment!" -Bloomfire
Bloomfire is a kind and patient mother to Bloodkit. She sees he's lonely and encourages him to try to befriend Swiftkit. She never believed Bloodkit was a bad omen and was upset that the Clan was so suspicious of him.
"You're an apprentice now. I'm so proud of you!" -Bloomfire to Bloodpaw
She was proud of Bloodpaw when he became an apprentice, and proceeded to return to her warrior duties. She fought in the battle against ThunderClan. She urged Bloodpaw not to let his name define him.
Bloomfire and Flameheart decide to have kits of their own. She happily gives birth to Cardinalkit, Heatkit, Foxkit, and Applekit, and felt Bloodpaw would be a great brother to them. She was very proud when Bloodfur became a warrior and enjoyed seeing him spend time with the kits.

Loss
After Bloodfur was accused of murder, Flameheart told him the truth about his parents and birth, and he angrily rejected Bloomfire and Flameheart as his parents. They tell their kits the truth too, but they take it well.
Bloomfire grieved heavily for Cardinalpaw and couldn't believe Bloodfur killed him. After his exile, she was proud to see Applefall, Heatstorm, and Foxflower become warriors.
Bloomfire fights in the battle against Deserve's Army. Flameheart receives a critical wound, and she and their kits, including Bloodfur, stay with him as he passes away.
Peace Again
Though she misses Flameheart very much, Bloomfire remains a positive and dedicated warrior. She forgives Bloodfur for his crimes and they rekindle their mother-son relationship. Though Heatstorm begins distancing himself from his family, she is close with Applefall and Foxflower, and her grandkits, Autumnkit and Stormkit.
Bloomfire is very proud of Autumnpaw and Stormpaw as they're apprenticed and received more grandkits from Foxflower: Tigerkit, Nightkit, and Cinderkit. She happily becomes mentor to one of them: Cinderpaw.
Rosemary's Attacks
As Rosemary sets traps in the Clans, herbs begin going missing or getting swapped with poisons in WindClan. The other Clans see it safe to assign a guard to their medicine dens, and Bloomfire becomes the guard for ShadowClan.
Bloomfire participates in battle against Rosemary's Army. Afterwards, she is distraught to hear about Heatstorm's death and betrayal. A few days later, she celebrates the warrior ceremonies of Autumnfire and Stormspirit.
After the battle against Rosemary, she retired to the elders' den and still enjoys spending time with her kin.
- Bloomfire is originally described as a dark fiery ginger she-cat with white paws, underbelly, a dark ginger blaze on her forehead, and green eyes. She's later given dark orange ears. She was first created when I began making Bloodfur's backstory. She is the brother of Rainheart, and when Poppywing dies, Bloomfire raises Bloodfur as her own with her mate, Flamefur.
- Cardinalpaw, Heatstorm, Applefall, and Foxflower were last minute additions to Shadows of Blood. Originally, Flameheart and Bloomfire would have had no biological kits of their own, but I wanted to give them some.
- At the gathering following Poppywing's death, Depthstar lies that Bloomfire is expecting kits, going along with the lie that Bloodkit is hers. (Starfaith's Fate, chapter 9)
- Bloomfire is a few moons older than Flameheart. (Rainheart's Love, chapter 2)
