Mottledface is a soldier of Deserve's Army. He was born in ShadowClan to Greenpine and Ashcloud. Once they were apprenticed, Ashcloud made himself absent from their lives, and Greenpine also grew distant. He was mentored by Cougarfoot and quickly became an ally in Poisonedsap's plot, and the best friend of Revengeheart. He participated in the attack on the medicine cats in which he killed Otterpelt, and nearly killed Silverberry.
He fought in the battle against the Clans in which he and Revengeheart killed Depthstar multiple times, and after their defeat, he joined Deserve's Army. He disapproved of Deserve's growing weakness, and after Rosemary killed him, he gladly joined her Army.
He participated in an attempt to kill Bloodfur, in which he was killed by Spiderfang. In death, he went to the Place of No Stars.
Mottledface is a mottled brown tom with amber eyes.
"You're an idiot, Bloodfur! How could you betray us for those fleabags?"
Mottledface is an all around troublemaker. He enjoys battle and bloodshed and is not afraid to break the Warrior Code. He is very loyal to Revengeheart, his best friend.

Ashcloud is Mottledface's father. Ashcloud realized upon his kits' birth that he didn't want to be a father. He helped Greenpine raise and care for them in the nursery, but after they were apprenticed, became absent from their lives.
Greenpine is Mottledface's mother. She cared for her kits in the nursery, but grew distant from them as they grew up.
Foxshadow is Mottledface's brother. They are both allies in Poisonedsap's plot and are now soldiers in Deserve's Army.
Ebonystripe is Mottledface's half sister, the daughter of Greenpine and Cliffshade. Mottledface has no relationship with her.
Flintpaw is Mottledface's half brother, the son of Greenpine and Cliffshade. Mottledface has no relationship with him.
Jadewing is Mottledface's half sister, the daughter of Greenpine and Cliffshade. Mottledface has no relationship with her.
Smokewhisker is Mottledface's half brother, the son of Greenpine and Cliffshade. Mottledface has no relationship with him.

Kithood
Mottledkit was born to Greenpine and Ashcloud in ShadowClan alongside his brothers, Stripedkit and Foxkit. After their birth, Ashcloud realizes he doesn't want to become a father, and feels more attracted to toms than she-cats. Greenpine understands, and Ashcloud helps to raise his kits until they are apprenticed. (Rainheart's Love, chapter 4 and Milkblaze's Suspicion, chapter 2)
Apprenticeship
Mottledpaw is apprenticed and receives Cougarfoot as his mentor. At some point during his apprenticeship, he becomes one of Poisonedsap's followers and supports she and Deserve's plot against the Clans.
Disloyal Warrior
He forms a close friendship with Poisonedsap's son, Revengepaw, and enjoys practicing battle moves and creating conflict with ThunderClan by framing them for Maplefur's death.
He soon becomes a warrior, Mottledface. He meets with Deserve's Army regularly to discuss their plans, and as per Poisonedsap's request, he mentors her kit Spiderpaw to ensure his loyalty to their cause. He's eager to steal prey from WindClan in an attempt to start a battle.
Mottledface and Bloodfur join a group of Deserve's soldiers in attacking the medicine cats at the Moonstone. Mottledface triumphantly smothers Otterpelt in her sleep, and he and Papercut slash at Silverberry, leaving her with critical wounds.
Mottledface participates in the battle against the Clans, in which he and Revengeheart take multiple lives from Depthstar, intending to kill him until he runs out. Bloodfur interferes, and Mottledface holds him down while Revengeheart slashes at him. In the end, Mistybreeze attacks and drives Mottledface away.
Deserve's Army
Mottledface joins Deserve's Army after the battle, and he looks forward to another attack, wanting vengeance on Bloodfur and Mistybreeze for their betrayal.
Supporting Rosemary
Mottledface is listening to Rosemary tell her stories, and he's very impressed with her abilities. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 5)
Mottledface is with Foxshadow, Amberrose, Papercut, and Tornadowind as they ambush Bloodfur's patrol. He fights viciously with the others trying to kill Bloodfur, but is killed by Spiderfang. (Winds of Darkness, chapter 19)
Place of No Stars
In death, Mottledface goes to the Place of No Stars.
- Bloodkit notes that he hasn't played with another kit since Stripedpaw, Mottledpaw, and Foxpaw left the nursery, however all were apprenticed long before he was born. (Shadows of Blood, chapter 1)
- Bloodpaw understands that Poisonedsap and Revengepaw want justice for Maplefur, but wonders what Mottledface has to gain. (Shadows of Blood, chapter 7)
