Kinsey studied under her guidance from ages 10-14. Kinsey was initially very excited to accept an apprenticeship invitation from her, especially because they both (at the time) were very quiet and inexpressive. Kinsey thought this meant they had similar priorities and personalities and would get along well. Kinsey did like her for a long time, but her quiet inexpression often translated into a lack of any real feedback or instruction.
Kinsey holds a lot of resentment for Posidonia and firmly believes that she held her back purposefully. With all of the anger Kinsey holds, though, she is also extremely afraid of Posidonia, and knows that she essentially only lives as long as Posidonia doesn't care about killing her.
Kinsey gets some amount (most) of her hard-headed determination from Farley. They have butted heads in the past and present over Kinsey's particular disregard of her own health in favor of achieving her goals, but it all comes from a place of affection.
Kinsey respects Farley and her accomplishments, but is prone to ignoring her advice, dismissing it as overly paranoid or unreasonable. This isn't an entirely unfair assessment, but it has a lot more to do with Kinsey's flagrant dismissal of her own safety than it does Farley's concern for it.
Elise, being a wizard, is technically responsible for Kinsey's first introduction to magic, but it was quite unintentional on Elise's part. Still, she learned to encourage and welcome this talent faster than Farley did, even if it led to some singed curtains from time to time.
Elise is largely more lenient than Farley, which makes Kinsey slightly more prone to heeding her advice when she warns her that something might be needlessly dangerous.
Calder was not present for the first 14 years of Kinsey's life. He was hardly even mentioned in conversation, though Kinsey was aware that she'd had a father. She didn't feel strongly about this fact, though thought him running away was cowardly- not exactly offended on her own behalf, but on Farley's. Still, because everything worked out, Kinsey found it difficult to harbor any actual feelings of resentment.
Calder and Kinsey met by coincidence in a town where neither of them recognized the other for who they were initially. There were some hiccups early in their relationship, and Kinsey doesn't really consider him fondly as she would her mothers, but they get along and he's managed to step up and be quite helpful at times.
Salzire and Kinsey have been friends since they were twelve, meeting and bonding due to a mutual appreciation of literature. He introduced her to his own group of friends, and helped to give her the confidence she now has in social situations. She still looks to him at times for advice in conversation.
They haven't been dating until somewhat recently, though many have mistaken them for a couple even before then. They had mutual crushes, but only Salzire was really awware of it, while Kinsey was moreso under the impression that everyone wanted to kiss their best friend sometimes.
Kinsey met Cele several weeks after running away. Cele taught her to survive in the wilderness, which she was largely clueless about. The two became friends quickly, and got up to all kinds of trouble together, inspired by Kinsey's favorite books.
The two have their own dialect which they speak together and no one else understands called 'Gobber's Geep.' Kinsey intentionally constructed it to circumvent the spell "Comprehend Languages" as it borrows word from Elvish, Celestial, and Draconic to mean things entirely different than what they do in the original language.
West of Mossy Rock is a member of the same adventuring party as Kinsey. She trusts him a lot at this point, and finds him a comforting presence. West is much older than Kinsey, and makes an effort to look out for her as a result. This is much appreciated by her mothers, who are extremely concerned for her safety while on adventures.
Kinsey and Xirsys are not especially close, but they operate with a mutual understanding and respect that allows them to work together effectively. Xirsys is similarly intelligent to Kinsey, and thus she places more value in his insight and opinions than she maybe should.
Feng and Kinsey are both similarly reserved with affection and so don't appear to be that close to outsiders. However, they're both rather content and comfortable with hanging out in silence. They are both mutually willing to hear each other out and have thoughtful dicussions, which seems strangely academic to others but is entertaining for them.
Valin and Kinsey are often at odds with one another. They exist within the same friend group, and are both more or less able to remain cordial, but they seem to not want to. They have fun arguing with and occasionally fighting each other.
Kinsey struggled to understand him in their youth, especially during her apprenticeship. She's begun understanding him more as she's started to hold significantly more resentment for her former mentor and the system that led her to her apprenticeship in the first place. This has yet to translate to any kind of closeness between them, but she at least understands where he's coming from.
Cenres is a generally lovable goofball who, to Kinsey, has a relatable lack of understanding for social intricacies. They get along well, though Kinsey struggles to converse with him at times due to how excitable he is. He has big aspirations in regards to magic, and will take any opportunity to ask Kinsey loads of questions.
Alexis and Kinsey met when Kinsey's adventuring party agreed to help escort her to another town. It was meant to be a short trip, but unfortunately, the entire group was kidnapped by a theives' guild. While obviously not ideal, this led to them spending much more time together than intended, which gave them time to bond, both with each other and with Ennui.
Alexis offered Kinsey a romance novel centered around two gay vampires, and they were immediately hooked. They've been book-buddies ever since and bond over sharing their favorite novels.
Ennui is a high-ranking member of the thieves guild that kidnapped Alexis, Kinsey, and her traveling party. While it seems odd, Kinsey and Alexis both spent a fair amount of time talking to her while captive, and Kinsey has ultimately decided to maintain contact with her even after being freed. The thieves' guild that she's a part of has become a valuable ally to Kinsey's adventuring party.
