IT ISS ALSO A FISH. but based off of a sockeye salmon! Not a black bass like Copper is. She lives in a swamp and fishes for fish every single day every single hour every single minute. If you couldn't tell, he likes fishing. They also definitely have one of those big mouth billy bass things in their swamp cottage
They basically act insane as in changes their name every single time they introduce themself, she makes references to wars, some she's definitely never been in, has war PTSD, and has a super crappy memory. Plus mood swings. All of this is caused by CTE dementia! Yaay. They also have ptosis from the same thing that caused the CTE, plus an overbite and buck teeth for funsies. Also, the strongest southern accent ever.
Anyways, backstory! As a kid, they always spent time with their grandpa and were basically raised by the guy. They annually visited Copper's lake in the spring (they are different fish kinds, still the same species), but eventually their home-lake dried up and they had to move there permanently. Either way, it was a pretty normal kid aside from being overly rambunctious and an accidental trouble maker at times. Eventually, everyone decides it's in their best interests to migrate to a village since food was scarce and many people were dying. Not Bait though!! They probably bit someone kicking and screaming while holding onto their grandpa for dear life, how could they ever abandon their dear like.. 80 year old best friend.
So yeah he basically dies a month later and Bait is left to fend for herself, but eventually Ash comes along to explore and Bait sneakily follows her back to her base. It stumbles upon the time-travel-and-teleportation-combo-machine-3000tm and goes through, ending up in the middle of a war. Fun. He gets recruited by one side, shows his worth through ooOooOo futuristic gun knowledge... and he like shreds the fuck out of people with a mini gun.... and then spends like 3 years serving in the war, all accompanied by constant concussions because they were the stupidest person there and kept banging their head onto things at full force. It somehow never dies, and thankfully it gets out of there! By some stroke of luck, Ash decided to time travel herself here and Bait catches a ride back, teleporting and time travelling both of them to like 2 minutes after she first went in. Fun. So then they kind of skedaddled out of there via hitting random buttons on the machine and jumping back through, leaving Ash absolutely dumbfounded. He ends up at a swamp just a few months after the previous time, and decides to just chill there for another 3ish years and counting. The magic of time travel.
Now, they fish a lot and make really bad soup to give to anyone that passes by, also probably scaring the shit out of them most of the time from rambling about fish, war, etc. She has a cool boat too the end
