Gordie's a naturally emotional and empathetic person but whilst she was working at the labs, she would need to repress her feelings and emotions to do her job properly and to please Grayson... But because of her lack of remorse and her stifling her guilt, she's almost always stressed which only results in her shape-shifting more often.

BACKSTORY
THE LABS
Before the laboratory, Gordie would meet someone named Grayson Hawkins during her college years. They both had a passion for science and zoology in particular; the two kept close contact to the point Gordie had started to date him. For a while, the two would have a relatively stable and happy relationship with each other but unfortunately, Grayson would start getting more caught up in his work that it would start to eat him alive, he had barely any time to spend with Gordie... Right when their relationship was against the ropes, Grayson would finally finish creating the Medicine that has the ability to turn humans into animal hybrids. By then, Gordie was so desperate for Grayson to spend time with him again that she would willingly help him out with his next step which was to test the medicine with human experiments.
SHAPE-SHIFTING
When Gordie was working at the laboratory, she would find herself on the verge of breakdowns almost every day... He wasn't cut out for being such a heartless scientist and it was taking a tremendous toll on his mental health. After a long year of working at the labs, she would finally get the courage to confront Grayson; telling him that she needed to quit. This would not boil down well at all and the confrontation would end with Grayson forcefully injecting Gordie with the medicine; using the fact she was also an animal hybrid to blackmail her into making her stay working for him. As a result, Gordie would continue to work at the laboratory for an agonising three more years before he would snap and breach the lab's security...
RELATIONS
Colt is terrified of Gordie, he's always compliant with the orders that she gives him and he tries staying in line. However, after a year had passed of being in the labs, he had started to notice Gordie had started to act... different. He looked less inclined to work as a scientist. Colt was still scared of him sure, but he could see there was still humanity in her.
Zachary despises Gordie above all else, he practically hates anyone who works at the laboratory and Gordie especially since she's specifically assigned to study him and Colt...
The two have a very messy relationship. He does genuinely care for Gordie but it's always a twisted sense of love... He finds Gordie's new mannerisms intriguing and spends time around her to analyse her behaviours now that he's half human/bird. It's truly tragic considering the two used to have a relatively healthy relationship before they began working at the labs...

TRIVIA
- She has mannerisms similar to a bird/animal: she chirps when she's really happy, stiffens up when she's angry, picks her own hair when she's scared/sad
- Grayson tries teaching her how to play solitaire but she just never gets the hang of it or likes the card game
- Doesn't like heavy rain at all...
- Really likes wearing fashionable and colourful accessories
- Hasn't discovered her talent for music and singing yet but when she became half bird, she started to subconsciously hum and whistle which was a start to her passion for the future
