About
Esta is one of many children cared for by the Goddess Astra, She who creates the stars and their dust and everything around it. But the birth of a planet marks the beginning of her journey. Our lonely starchild Esta is sent down by Her to pass judgement on the planet and its people. You see, when a planet comes into being it is nothing more than the Stone and Dust it is made from but the matter of life is very precious to the Gods. Everywhere there is life, there is a chance for disaster. People know not that meddling with the balance of nature is a fickle thing and oftentimes their ego is too large for their frail bodies to carry. So it falls to Esta to judge whether these people are capable of living in harmony or bringing great destruction.
Past the Fall
Once she finds herself on the planet its people call "Soil" Esta carries out her mission diligently... just kidding. It is hard to say whether she even remembered at all what she was sent to do. But is that not the beauty of it? One might argue that a judge who knows nothing at all is the most reliable judge one could find. So, Esta sets out on her journey, seeing the world and its people with eyes wide opened and a heart waiting to be filled.
Ane and Ves
Anestella and Vesstella are minor deities of love, asked by the Mother of All, Astra, to guide Esta's way on Soil. Much to their dismay they aren't quite strong enough to maintain their true forms on a planet of people and instead take the shape of small animals. One might even call them cats! Though one would technically be wrong to do so... but those two ought to get used to it anyway.
Trivia
- Esta is allergic to cats. For some reason.
- She loves sunrise but dislikes sunsets. She hates to think that someone's best day in their life has just ended.
- She cannot be killed but she is capable of dying and her body can sustain wounds.
- She channels starlight through her staff, oftentimes with the help of Ane and Ves.
- Once she stumbled over a stone in her path. Afterwards she has taken to the belief that stones are her enemy.
- She suffers from bouts of claustrophobia, saying that "Everywhere is so small, there is no space for me."
- When she feels particularly crowded she longs for open fields.
- When she feels particularly lonely she longs for the chatter of people and a hug.
People of Importance
Kitae [ companions ]
Kitae was the first person Esta encountered on Soil, the first friend she made on this foreign planet. He is a travel companion, a source of answers and a partner in crime. They find solace in each other, both on their own in this large world. Esta, who didn't have the choice to stay and Kitae, who was never meant to leave. Esta also finds his temper delightful although most people would say the opposite.
Eclisya [ complicated ]
Both Esta and Eclisya have a connection to Astra, though they could not be more different in kind. One could say that Esta is everything Eclisya was meant to be and stands for everything she despises. Yet they are allies. They are friends. Technically they are even step-siblings if the Gods worked like humans. But Esta will settle for friends because thanks to Eclisya her heart is filled just a little bit more.
