He runs the nicest laundromat in town. All of them, to be exact.
And he's also the reason your socks disappear in the dryers.

A world-destroying monster sent to Earth to obliterate it, Sox had found the task daunting on his feet. His world didn't have socks, and thus his feet were constantly mangled by burning ground to walk on amidst thorns, rocks, and even acidic puddles.
Then he landed on Earth and happened to come across a sock puppet theater. He was mesmerized by the uniqueness and charm. At the end of the show one of the workers noticed his lack of socks and handed him a pair. They were the comfiest objects he had ever felt, and they felt magnificent on his feet. He could walk anywhere freely. He absolutely adored them.
He couldn't bring himself to destroy a planet that could create something so incredible. Sox decided to protect the planet instead. As he took human form, he opened a business running a laundromat, and when people aren't looking he likes to sneak some socks out of the dryer and add them to his collection.

Notes: So the other day I was doing laundry at a laundromat and thought, "Huh. Wouldn't it be cool to have a character that ran a place like this? It's, like, way different than the kind of boring jobs characters have, like teachers or retail. And what if... what if he's the reason behind the missing socks??" He went through a lot of changes in the idea phases these past couple days. What if he was a tooth fairy but with socks? What if he was just a freak? Then, as I got his adopt, it hit me: he's just like Reggie. And here he is.
Although he may change a bit, still.
