PERSONALITY

Yet, there are moments when his emotions break free, unleashing a storm of anger that takes everyone by surprise. These outbursts are rare but intense, happening when least expected, leaving him vulnerable and exposed. In those moments, he is stripped of his carefully constructed facade, revealing a side of him that few have ever seen.
He revels in the morbid pleasure of watching others suffer, especially when it's a result of his own cruel words and actions. His need for perfection is so consuming that even a misplaced pen on his desk or a stray hair out of placefrom his slicked back hairstyle sends shivers down his spine.
Dimitri is a master of manipulation, seamlessly controlling the emotions and behaviors of those around him with a charisma that hides his nefarious intentions. He has little faith in Eon society and doubts the necessity of developing cybernetic prostheses and artificial intelligence.
His passion for his research is a burning flame that knows no bounds, fueled by the depths of the Eonian oceans that he seeks to uncover and conquer. His hunger for knowledge and power is insatiable, driving him to push the boundaries of what is known.

APPEARANCE

His medium-length, raven-black hair shines through the wet gel in oil streaks and frames his narrow face, which is marked by a prominent, crooked nose and high-set cheekbones. His deep-set eyes are visibly framed by dark shadows and his thin lips are pressed together in a barely recognizable line. A worn glass eye rests in his left eye socket, which he hides most of the time behind his glasses, which have a petrol-colored tinted lens.
Dimitri's broad shoulders are supported by his robust bone structure and taper to a remarkably narrow waist, which makes his flat buttock appear almost modest. Slender legs and long arms make him appear leaner than he is. The contours of his ribs stand out against his pale skin, on which his veins shine through bluishly. His primary gills are located on the left costal arch and his secondary gills at the level of the carotid artery on the left side of his neck. His thin leather gloves conceal his mutated left hand, whose nails have grown into sharp claws, that shimmer iridescently.
He consistently wears professional attire, including a white doctor's coat, sea-colored shirts or turtlenecks at work. Outside of the workplace, he opts for suits to maintain a formal appearance. His polished patent leather shoes make a distinct clacking sound as he walks, and his trousers are always neatly pressed.
He has a soothing and gentle voice, carrying a subtle monotone tone. He likes to take his time when speaking. When he threats others to obey to him, his voice gets pretty forceful.

BACKGROUND HISTORY

Dimitri, a molecular biologist and survivor of the Euphoria crash, is facing challenges in meeting the expectations of his employer, BioMed Industries. Feeling overwhelmed, he decides to get drunk in one of the illegally kept bars in the research facilities where he meets Elijah, there who promptly sits down with him and tries to lift his mood. He offers him a ride on his freighter to take his mind off things. The first catch Elijah pulls on deck with Dimitri, among fish and eels, is a cryogenic capsule of unknown origin.
Intrigued, Dimitri became immersed in researching the mysterious being inside the cypsule, neglecting his budding love affair with Elijah, whereupon Elijah makes an impulsive mistake and sails out to sea despite a storm warning. While Dimitri attempted to follow, his fear of water prevented him from joining Elijah at sea, causing him to remain at the harbor.

When Elijah returns, his health gradually declines, prompting Dimitri to disclose his research to him in an effort to find a potential cure. Dimitri has identified significant regenerative properties in the creature's blood and hopes to utilize this discovery to improve Elijah's condition. Unfortunately, Elijah's health deteriorates to the point where he is unable to provide informed consent for the experimental treatment.
Dimitri administers it to him anyway, justifying it because he wants to save him... because he loves him after all. However, Elijah mutates as a result of the drug and becomes a threat to his own well-being as well as to Dimitri's safety.
Dimitri's left eye falls victim his mutant husband, cruelly torn asunder by Elijah's savage claws, who breaks one of them during the attack, causing their blood to mix. After Dimitri has locked Elijah in a free cryogenic chamber, he drags himself to the washrooms. In the mirror, he is confronted with a fragmented eyeball whose biological mass is reassembling itself. In a strangely inhuman way. At first fascinated, his curiosity turns into paralyzing fear. Dimitri knows he must act quickly to prevent the mutated cells from spreading and consuming his remaining flesh. He makes the hasty decision to extract his eyeball. The pain is unbearable, but he grits his teeth and places the severed eye in a test tube filled with formaldehyde.

Dimitri later gains a deeper understanding of the properties of his husband's mutant blood. Driven by a keen sense of curiosity, he resorts to unconventional methods in order to ensure Elijah's well-being. Dimitri utilizes Elijah's blood to develop a medicinal treatment for himself, which he continues to depend on to this day... But as the days pass, Dimitri finds himself lost in his obsession, his once-devoted love overshadowed by his relentless pursuit of a cure. The lines between maniac and lover blur, until Elijah becomes nothing more than a mere experiment to him. The realization hits Dimitri like a sudden storm, crashing over him in waves of regret and sorrow.
In moments of desperate longing, Dimitri numbs his pain with whiskey or lets his emotions spill out through haunting melodies on the piano. And when the weight of his guilt becomes unbearable, he seeks solace in the vast expanse of the sea, searching for a connection to the man he once cherished so deeply.

MEDCIAL RECORDS

Due to his genetic mutations, the left side of his body is stronger, possessing self-healing abilities, while his right side is weaker and heals more slowly than an ordinary human. He needs medication at regular intervals to prevent further degeneration as his cells battle each other. This may appear as a rare form of leukemia in his medical records.
His skin on the left side of his body may show iridescence in sunlight when moist, but it is subtle and hard to notice to the naked eye.
His hands are always cold and his body temperature is lower than usual, resembling hypothermia in a healthy person.
His blood has the color of rusty blue.
His self-healing powers are draining on his body. He can withstand a simple cut, but if he loses a finger, he becomes lethargic and fatigue. If he doesn't find the opportunity to rest, he collapses.
The primary and secondary gills are incredibly responsive to even the gentlest of touches, especially when it comes to the left costal arch. He recoils at the slightest contact, even if it's just over a layer of clothing. However, everything changes when they are immersed in water. Then he truly enjoys the sensation of fingers moving inside of them.
Under stress, his pupils may narrow more than usual.
Dimitri wears a glass eye, as he refuses any augmentation on his body.

STRENGTHS

His medical knowledge is vast and boundless, cultivated over decades spent on Eon. It is a result of both academic study and hands-on experience, often acquired through dark and questionable means, which he does not regret in the slightest.
His analytical prowess is unmatched, granting him a strategic edge over his adversaries. Yet, this same superiority blinds him to the glaring vulnerabilities within his own plans, dismissing them as too obvious to be exploited.
His manipulative skills have earned him the position of personal physician to the governor of the sixty-ninth colony.
His discipline does not allow him to neglect his research and so he constantly strives for perfection in his progress.

WEAKNESSES

His complete lack of empathy acts as a barrier, preventing him from truly grasping why those around him feel uneasy in his presence.
He finds solace in isolation, unable to form any genuine connections out of fear that his ilittle secret will be exposed.
By converting his mutant husband's blood samples into his medicine, he ends up harming his body. A self-destructive behavior from which he finds no way out. Without the ampoules, the cells of the First Ones eventually take over his body, leading to his inevitable demise as his own immune system turns against itself.

PIANO

Dimitri's piano playing is truly unique, as he has never received professional lessons. This unconventional approach gives his music a raw, imperfect charm. Despite his lack of formal training, he pours his dedication and raw emotions into every note he plays, creating a hauntingly beautiful sound.
With no regard for traditional techniques, Dimitri embraces unusual harmonies and arpeggios, crafting a dark and melancholic atmosphere in his music. Each deep tone he plays reflects the pent-up emotions that he otherwise struggles to express.
