Spencer Kennerly is a simple girl—spearhead of her Ranked team, frontwoman of her indie band, and... some type of aspiring influencer, she runs the world and she likes it that way. With her sharp tongue and sharper teeth she oozes a savage, gloating charisma typical of the contemporary Inkling teenager, her only discernible emotions haughty displeasure and schadenfreude. Spencer is exacting and prudent, and immodest for it; if you want something done right, you do it her way.
It might not come as a surprise, then, that she's found her niche at the top ranks of Grizzco Industries, where attitude bows to the reign of raw skill and everything else can fall away before the capability Spencer cultivates—and her resolution to make it known. She grips her self-imposed leading role with a silver gilt fist and takes no pleasure in the ire of her coworkers: the wind of Salmonid seas bears complaints of youth despite her rank and her caustic, cutthroat nature on its breath. It’s hard to imagine, then, that she likes her job at all, but no one sticks around to ask... Left to contend with the wind and waves, she wouldn’t—honestly—have it otherwise.

Relationships
Her rival, in so many words—her least-favorite coworker whom she can't get rid of. Spencer's relationship with Shiloh isn't a matter she has a lot of choice in, since he usually shows up right when she wants him the least, to the point she's starting to wonder if it's divine intervention. She can't deny the two of them work well together, though: anyone she can double quota with is someone she wants to stick around. If he weren't so impertinent, full of bluster and lacking charity, she might even respect him—in those regards, Shiloh's almost like her. There's a strange kind of honesty to be found in sharing so many long hours and late nights with someone, whether she likes it or not.
The one person on earth Spencer would call a friend without hesitating, Bernadine is a tour de force that she's grateful for, if often exasperated by. She's a bad influence by some others' definition, and a refuge by Spencer's—she owes Bernadine for cracking open her shell and for the summers spent in her home, wailing badly on rented guitars and trying on each other's clothes. It isn't that Spencer has a crush on her (at least, she thinks) but that her admiration is acute; Bernadine is her backup on vocals, on guitar, and almost every regard in her life. She just wishes she could shake the sense that it's conditional.
