As a young salmonid, Kitsu was pretty quiet, but very inquisitive and curious; she always wanted to know what her parents were up to, where they were going, what this and that meant, etc. She loved to learn new things. Her household was alright in her earlier years, but after she turned 10, her parents had unfortunately divorced. She stayed with her father, Salmond, and didn't see her mother again after everything had been dealt with. Her curious nature had lead to a lot of questions about the divorce: "Where did mom go?", "Can I see her?" Her innocent mind couldn't understand what went on between her parents, and Salmond did his best to shield her from it all--he didn't want Kitsu dealing with such heavy stuff at a young age--but he didn't know that she was left with some damage from the arguing and stress. After a while, she had stopped asking, and instead tried to find a new hobby to get her mind off things. This is where her love for music sparked.

Kitsu began to learn about music in school, and looked forward to the class every single day. Her father was very happy to see she'd found something that she was passionate about. One Fishmas day when she was 14, Salmond decided to buy Kitsu a laptop, which she had been wishing for for a long while. He even bought her a music composing software! Kitsu was thrilled. She immediately began making songs, showing her dad each and every single one. He could see her quick improvement over time, and was ever-so proud of her. Once Kitsu started getting older, Salmond got a job in the news industry as a reporter, which meant he needed to be out of the house more often. He began to come home later and later, leaving Kitsu alone quite a lot. She hated this. She missed her dad, and without him, it was difficult for her to relax. She couldn't help but overthink about the divorce whenever she had nothing to do. Her mind always came back to it, and as she grew older, she began to get a better understanding of what happened. This hurt her quite a lot to discover, and a resentment towards her father began to build.

Kitsu often saw her father reporting incidents on TV. He had grown quite the ego. He was always pretty fond of himself, but this job has definitely fed into his snarky attitude. She couldn't stand it. She spent a lot more time on her own, and even when her father was home, she would instead shut herself in her room and focus on her music. Things are still tense between the two now, but Salmond is trying his best to rebuild their relationship as father and daughter, and wants to spend more time with her. Kitsu is very focused on her music now, it practically becoming her career. She's hoping to build a band some day.
