Cassava

Dogbane is Cass' life partner. They've been close since their days in salmonid society but didn't become fully commited to one another as life partners until after striking out on their own. They even had a lil pseudo-wedding ceramony! Afterwards they moved to the Splatlands and joined a community of defected octolings and disillusioned salmonids, eventually helping construct the small oasis town they live in today.

Rosy and her sibling, Lila, are Dogbane and Cass' kids through and through, even if the family is less than convential. Although they were raised by the town's community as a whole, Dog and Cass had the most involment in the duo's unconventinal upbringing and were the most like traditional parents. Cass loves her like a daughter and has taught her everything she knows about music and cooking, even teaching her many tradional salmonid musical motifs. He takes pride in having sparked her musical aspirations!

Cass loves him as if he were her own child and feels a hint of pride when the arrogant young octoling refers to him as "mom" or "dad".

Cass' thinks Zinny is... odd to say the least. The little smallfry is far more disciplined than the other young salmonid in town, always insisting on adressing others needlessly formally and keeping to a sharp scedchule. Cass honestly finds the kid a bit unnerving but that's neither here nor there. Despite all that, Zinny is a good influence of Lila and Rosy and Cass wouldn't have approved anyone else to travel with the duo to Splatsville.
