Zapp is a recluse Luxray boy who roams freely amongst the wild areas of Medowbrook. He spends a lot of his day isolated from the world, battling on behalf of those incapable of defending themselves from wild, violent Pokemon. He often finds himself roaming back to this quaint little village where his lover, Pinkberry is found tending to her cottage. Zapp is very reserved, often getting flustered when given too much affection despite his strong will in battle. He loves her unconditionally and there isn't anything he wouldn't do to keep her safe.

Zapp prefers to keep most, if not all, of his background a secret. To his dismay, however, a metaphorical and literal ghost lurking in Cyan City seems gravely fond of his physical strength and endurance. Zapp’s battle experience had to have come from somewhere after all. Perhaps he has something to do with it…
