Chrysanthemumstar was the previous leader of Hurricaneclan, she was generally a well respected leader though some say she could be quite distant. They definitely preferred to keep to themself during their later years and didn't open up to anyone.

Chrysanthemumstar is pretty quiet and stoic and tends to not show a lot of emotion on their face, especially around cats she's not close with. But she's very kind-hearted and rarely lashes out or raises their voice at anyone. They care deeply about their loved ones though she's not great at showing it.

Childhood

Chrysanthemumkit didn't bother much with socializing, they assumed that they would just be made fun of by their small size, so when she was made an apprentice, she tried her best to get ahead of their peers to prove to everyone that their size wasn't something to laugh about.

Chrysanthemumpaw was doing great, warriors praise her all the time, the only thing stopping her from continuing on this path of isolating themself to focus on training was Hickorypaw. Hickorypaw was a charming cat, he'd talk to Chrysanthemumpaw during training and sometimes even offer to share prey with him. And Chrysanthemumpaw started to develop a crush on the other apprentice.

But Hickorypaw has the hugest fattest crush on Mistletoepaw, and Mistletoepaw clearly likes him back as well. The two apprentices would constantly flirt with each other and "joke" about being partners in the future. Chrysanthemumpaw was very jealous of Mistletoepaw, but unfortunately (or fortunately?) Mistletoepaw decided that they were her best friend and the three formed a friend group of sorts.

Mistletoepaw was always extremely nice to Chrysanthemumpaw, and it was getting harder and harder for them to hold that grudge on her. Eventually Chrysanthemumpaw accepted the fact that Hickorypaw didn't like her back and moved on. The three became inseparable, and they all became warriors with flying colors and life was looking bright.

Where everything went downhill

Chrysanthemumspud later realized that she was crushing on Mistletoeheart, but Mistletoeheart and Hickoryfire were partners, and she was not about to ruin their relationship with her feelings. They didn't really know what to do, so they just carried on with life, trying to ignore thinking about Mistletoeheart as much as possible, which is difficult when you hang out with her every single day.

Mistletoeheart later proposed to Hickoryfire and Chrysanthemumspud about them all being in a poly relationship. Chrysanthemumspud agreed happily but Hickoryfire wasn't so keen on the idea. They later all agreed that Mistletoeheart and Hickoryfire would stay partners while Chrysanthemumspud could be platonic partners with Mistletoeheart, and while this wasn't exactly what they were hoping for, it was good enough.

After a few moons, Chrysanthemumstar chosen Mistletoeheart as her deputy, the two were great at working with each other, and with the support of Hickoryfire, they were unstoppable and Hurricaneclan was growing stronger and stronger under their leadership. Mistletoeheart and Hickoryfire later announced that they were going to start a family.

Chrysanthemumstar was of course extremely happy about this, and she would be happier if Mistletoeheart didn't die during childbirth. Chrysanthemumstar wanted Hickoryfire to be the next deputy, but he rejected. Chrysanthemumstar respected her friend's decision but didn't appoint a new deputy, thinking that Hickoryfire was the only one fit for the job.

It was when Hickoryfire's kits, Gleampaw, Flarepaw and Bluebellpaw were made apprentices did Hickoryfire agreed to become the new deputy. During a battle with Dragonclan, Hickoryfire and Bluebellpaw were unfortunately killed, and Chrysanthemumstar refused to appoint a new deputy. She took Gleampaw under her wing and started training her.

During this, they got quite close with another warrior named Scorchcinders who has also taken an interest in Gleampaw and they trained her together.

the bottom of the hill

The two talked a lot, like a lot a lot, and Chrysanthemumstar revealed that she would love to have kits of her own, and to her surprise, Scorchcinders said if they become a couple then they would be unstoppable. Chrysanthemumstar knew she was right, if the leader and strongest warrior in the clan got together then it would be a great image for the clan. So she agreed. They both made it very clear that this relationship would be completely platonic but they would pretend it's romantic for the clan.

Scorchcinders would continually ask them when are they going to appoint a new deputy, Chrysanthemumstar knew that her "partner" wanted the position more than anything, but something inside her refused. They later had a litter of a singular kit, Citruskit. They knew Citruskit was a last ditch effort from Scorchcinders, to encourage Chrysanthemumstar to make her deputy.

But she later decided that she would make Gleamfire her deputy instead of their "partner". Scorchcinders didn't take this well, Chrysanthemumstar expected that but she didn't expect the extremes Scorchcinders would make. They felt guilty when she died, they felt guilty that they didn't feel the same grief they felt when Mistletoeheart and Hickoryfire passed. It made them feel heartless.

The only keeping Chrysanthemumstar sane after all that was Citruskit, she would give her life for them, and she did when they were only 2 moons old.
