Kou

A weary, but brave slugcat from the wilds of their homeworld, surviving well from cycle to cycle... until one day, they couldn't find proper shelter and were forced to stay up in horror as the rainwas barely kept at bay in a broken shelter. Tired, Kou found a pretty solid looking shelter with a comfy place to nap, but it wasn't a shelter as Kou ended up a research ship's stowaway, scared out of his mind among new creatures... after being examined a bit with strange machines, Kou was kept under the wing of a researcher as an exotic pet, until he started repeating words from shows in increasingly proper context, where the research team started to teach him more things, amazed at how feral he seemed not being how feral of a creature he was.

He is also slimy and squishy with no bones to slip into tight spaces.
