Death and life, Dogstar lives in order to remember all those he's lost, because he's lost a lot. War, famine, disease, you name it, he's seen it. He's seen countless horrors, yet lives on in hopes of carrying history with him. That's his sole goal.
Dogstar knows how cruel the world can be. He will shield anyone from harm, even if it means he'll have to lose a life or two because of it.

✧ First Face : The World.
When faced with his clan, Dogstar tries to put up a steely, stoic demeanor that... can easily be broken by a cool looking bug or stick.
He exudes an aura of wisdom, to an extent, as do most old men with grey hairs. Unlike most old men, Dogstar... has a hard time keeping serious for very long. He's clumsy to a fault, falling over his own paws every second.
Despite his 'too tired to care' demanor, Dogstar will readily put himself in patrols or get in harm's way for his clanmates. He's self-sacrificing to a fault.
✧ Second Face: Close ones.
It's not very hard to get past Dogstar's exterior. Even if you're the slightest bit close to him, he'll bring you little trinkets when you least expect it. It's his love language.
Though he usually always talks a lot, Dogstar is even more talkative around those he loves. He'll chat for hours if you let him. At the same time, he adores the quiet moments, and will usually just come to his family or friends, lay down to nap for... an unrecorded amount of time.
✧ Third Face: True Reflection.
What Dogstar hides from everyone is a mind filled with conflict and self-doubt. He wants to lead the best he can, but doesn't feel like he'll ever be as great as previous leaders. He wants to keep others safe, but he fails every single time.
Truthfully, Dogstar doesn't like to be left alone. It's a main reason for his common nightmares. Being surrounded with other voices keeps him from focusing on the ones in his head. He can't bear the quiet for long.
A stocky, ginger-brown tom with blue eyes. He has only three legs, and no real teeth, replaced by canines from dogs.
Build. stocky
— Dogstar isn't able to move very fast thanks to the way he's built. In combat, he usually relies on laying on his enemies or going with swift, heavy hits.
— 10 Fen Scale / 9e Fen Scale
Scars. all over the place
— Every scar has a story, none of which Dogstar's forgotten. The one on his eye is from Hazylegacy, leg scar is from getting hit by a car, leg bite is from Blazingstorm... uhm...
— You can't really see it, but his gums are all messed up from how many times he's stabbed new teeth into them.
Eyes. waterspout blue
— His eyelids are almost always narrowed down a little. He's tired,
— Dogstar's eyebags are a big part of what makes Dogstar... Dogstar, they're the same color of grey as his muzzle.
Fur. fluffy & fuzzy; ginger brown
— Dogstar's fur is reminiscent of that of... a dog's, to no surprise. More specifically, a golden retriever's, but slightly shorter.
— As Dogfire became Dogstar, the diamond shape on his chest changed from a cream color with a dark outline to a dark color with a cream-colored outline inside.
Scent. freshcut wood
— Having spent a lot of time near the Treecut Place and in ThunderClan territory as a whole... this one kinda just makes sense.
Accessories. satchel, clovers, juniper berries, pink columbine, spear, bracelets
— Dogstar carries a LOT of accessories. Most, if not all of them, sit on his satchel, which he brings everywhere he goes.
I'd surely lose myself

Dislikes. rainy gatherings; dirty nests; strong scents; cold, wet fur; overly assertive cats; disorganization; muddy paws
Fears. drowning; being forgotten; complete silence; failure to protect; nightmares; betrayal; losing his belongings; loss of loved ones
Ambitions. strengthen clan bonds; help thunderclan prosper; discover new lands; perserving clan history; remembering the fallen
Mental Health. Pretty okay all things considered! Moral ambiguity is a bit of a problem, he's kinda been desensitized to death.
Beliefs. The Warrior Code is important, but listening to it 24/7 will never lead you to happiness. Follow your own beliefs.
Hobbies. When Dogstar gets a chance, he'll often carve intracite shapes into bones or sticks. These momentos are typically left at gravesites or placed in his den to spice up the place.
Trivia.
- Phantom pain still rears its head ever since Dogfire's lost his leg... he has to go to the medicine den at least twice a moon because of it
- The dog teeth in his maw are rarely used for combat, due to how easily they fall out. A badly placed slam into the ground can send them scattering around him, and the cycle of collecting starts again
- On top of the teeth topic, Dogfire talks with a slight lisp caused by his weird jaw situation

01. What's the lie you say most often?
"Fhat I know nuthin'? I know a lot, jus' depends'h who m' talkin' to."
Dogstar usually witholds information when he thinks it would do more harm than good. He's got a lot hidden under his belt that's just... never been said.
02. What do you notice first in the reflection versus what most others first notice looking at you?
"My eye? I guess'h my teetfh are the firsht' thing a lot of cats'h notiche."
They're a pretty prominent feature, so... Dogstar's teeth jut out awkwardly whenever he's smiling too, so that's a bonus
03. If you were suddenly challenged, would you rather run away or stay and fight?
"I'd lihke ta' keep my cool, but it really depends'h what fhat cat is'h sayin."
Dogstar is a non-combative individual. He likes to stay out of fights whenever possible. He only ever fights back in self defense, or if he's really emotional, which... takes a lot, admittedly.
04. Are you proud of who you are?
"I wish I could shay I was'h."
05. Are you afraid of death?
"It comes fer' us'h all evfentually."
Dogstar's stared death in the eyes more times than he can count on all paws combined. It keeps him up at night.
06. What does a perfect world look like to you?
"One where we don' gotta worry 'bout war'sh or battles'h. Where our lovfed ones'h don' ghotta worry 'bout dyin alone in a field of blood."

09. Do you think the future is hopeful? Why or why not?
"You mean the clans'sh future? I mean, righ' now, s' lookin' up. More sho than it has'h in the past."
The Spider-Rose Illness has wracked the clans for years. Cats die left and right because of it. Only now, have they really gotten answers to it all.

"I'll kheep fhat bit represshed a lil' longer, fhanks."

Chapter Zero.
Kithood & Apprenticeship.
In the early stages of Dogstar's life, Cider was born from a forbidden love between a ThunderClan cat (Rattlemane) and an exiled RiverClan warrior (Ebonykite). Raised in a desolate city, he struggled with a fear of water while his siblings excelled in swimming.
Forced to leave their city home due to rising waters, he faced a life-altering journey that began when he was swept away by a river's strong current. Miraculously, he was saved by a protective dog, forming an unusual bond. Together, they navigated the harsh city environment, searching for an escape/
After enduring many trials, including a perilous river crossing, Cider and his loyal dog companion eventually found an escape route, but it was not without danger. They were pursued by a pack of aggressive dogs, and the dog fought valiantly to protect Cider. With tremendous effort, they reached the river-gate, only to be swept away into the unknown. Cider woke up injured on a rocky shore and was later found by ThunderClan cats, who tended to his wounds.
He learned of his father's death and his mother's disappearance, leaving him feeling truly alone. He later took on the name Dogkit and later Dogpaw. Soon, Dogkit began his apprenticeship in ThunderClan, determined to prove his worth and honor his protector.
Dogpaw's apprenticeship under Koiswirl proved uneventful and sheltered, as he remained unaware of the dangers lurking beyond the forest territory. He frequently fell ill, particularly during the harsh leaf-bare season, needed constant visits to the medicine den, though he bounced back quickly. Dogpaw's understanding of the warrior code was lacking, leading to multiple unintentional forays into WindClan and ShadowClan territories, even earning a scar from a RiverClan apprentice named Flamepaw.
His recklessness extended to crossing roads, narrowly avoiding injury, and taking adventurous laps around the park. Despite these escapades, Dogpaw still fulfilled his clan duties, engaging in hunting and patrolling. Ultimately, his apprenticeship offered an exciting experience, and he eagerly anticipated his warrior ceremony.
Upon becoming a warrior, Dogpaw was bestowed the name Dogfire, honored for his piety.
✧ WARNING: limb amputation, death, descriptions of grief.

- oh yeah his mate turns out to be a murderer like three whole times but he's only aware of one
Chapter One.
Warriorhood.
During Dogfire's early warrior days, murmurs of the approaching Gathering filled the clan's camp with anticipation. He looked forward to meeting new cats and forming friendships, but the reality was far from what he expected. Tensions simmered among the four clans. The looming threat of the Spider Rose Illness weighed heavily on Dogfire's mind. As he left the camp, a sense of unease and uncertainty clouded his thoughts. However, amidst the challenging circumstances, he found solace in meeting Bumbletumble, a RiverClan cat with whom he quickly formed a bond.
The following moons brought escalating tension, driven by the Sandystar, Silverstar, and Hailstar conflict, which culminated in a tense 2v1 battle. For Dogfire, it marked his first true taste of battle, an opportunity to live up to the heroic tales he had heard.
The reality was nothing like he had imagined—chaos, bloodshed, and swift violence. Engaging in a fierce skirmish with a RiverClan warrior named Hazylegacy, Dogfire was wounded in the eye, enduring excruciating pain. He witnessed the fall of his fellow warriors at the hands of the enemy clans, ultimately fleeing the battlefield in a surge of adrenaline.
The healing days that followed were far from enjoyable, and Dogfire spent hours in the medicine den, unable to hunt or contribute to his clan's needs. The traumatic experience left a lasting impact on him, and he made a solemn vow never to harm another cat unless absolutely necessary. To further compound his turmoil, he learned of Bumbletumble's death, leaving him feeling lost and disoriented, with no one to turn to in his time of need.
The events in Dogfire's life continued to shape his experiences. His wounded eye healed into a pinkish-red scar, and he found companionship with a cat named Ratbrain. Their frequent meetings led to a deep bond, and Dogfire couldn't have been happier. However, tragedy struck once more with the murder of ShadowClan's medicine cat, Starlingnight. ThunderClan faced accusations, and Dogfire joined an investigation to find the culprit, which resulted in his mate's, Ratbrain's, exile.
Struggling with the turmoil of his mate being responsible for the murder, Dogfire grappled with his loyalty to ThunderClan. He questioned Ratbrain's motives and tried to make sense of the situation, but eventually, the days of anxiety faded away. Dogfire could still see Ratbrain just beyond ThunderClan territory.
Life continued with talk of kits and plans for the future. Dogfire remained eager to share his experiences with Ratbrain. An ocean patrol and search for Stalkingdreams brought more challenges, resulting in Dogfire's loss of teeth, leg, Stalkingdreams, and Ratbrain. The grief weighed heavily on him, and he struggled to find the strength to move on.
Dogfire eventually retired to the elders' den, but life took an unexpected turn when he found and cared for a kit named Dovekit. He raised her as his own, adopting two more kits later. The family he had always longed for was finally his, though he couldn't help but wish Ratbrain could have witnessed it.
He continued to face the ever-changing challenges of his clan, including the outbreak of a strange illness that infected clan cats. As a deputy, Dogfire took on new responsibilities, determined to serve ThunderClan until his last breath, acknowledging the struggles they had endured together.

Chapter Two.
Deputyhood & Leadership.
As Dogfire continued his role as deputy, he formed strong bonds with his fellow deputies, Lostdreams, Breezeblossom (later Breezestar), and Phantomwaltz. They often gathered at the RC/TC bridge to escape the stress of clan life, discuss clan matters, and strengthen their camaraderie.
A new threat emerged with infected cats, and Dogfire discovered their hideout in the tunnels. A fight broke out, and the tunnels flooded, leaving ThunderClan and WindClan cats searching for survivors. The tumultuous events further solidified their bond, and Dogfire was grateful for Breezeblossom's assistance.
Following Cedarstar's death, during a meeting with the deputies, tensions flared when Lostdreams reacted strongly to a comment about ShadowClan's contentment. A fight between Breezestar and Lostdreams ensued, culminating in a near-drowning incident for Breeze. Despite the turmoil, their bonds grew stronger, providing a sense of unity among the deputies.
The challenges continued with famine and a landslide in ThunderClan's camp, leading Dogfire to embark on a perilous journey to find the infected cats who had escaped. The patrol encountered numerous dangers, including fights with dogs and harpy eagles. They eventually found Tetratears at a graveyard in the city.
Shatterveil's sudden death left Dogfire in shock, and he feared it might lead to war between the clans. However, a tense peace prevailed for a moon until Spiderstar and Tetratears went missing. When they were found mauled, the clan grappled with grief and anger. Dogfire had to intervene to prevent Owlstorm from seeking revenge, understanding that killing wouldn't help ThunderClan heal, even though the pain ran deep.
Even as he became Dogstar, Dogfire remained dedicated to his clan, to keep them safe, first and foremost. Even with nine lives, he can't help but feel as if he's not cut out for this, sometimes.
Time will tell, he supposes.
Dogstar would be lying if he said he wasn't skeptical of the RiverClan deputy at first. He was mildly intimidated by Lostdreams's stoic and unblinking exterior, but nowadays, he doesn't even flinch at it.
Though Dogstar has a hard time vocalizing it, Loststar is like a brother or some kind of grandkid to him. He's one of the main reasons Dogstar's been able to even slightly brave his fear of water: just to head over to RiverClan camp and bother their tuxedo leader with new flowers he finds across the border.
Ever since the infected attack on WindClan's tunnels, Dogstar has felt like he can come over to the moors with just about anything. He has Breezestar to thank for that.
The flat lands of WindClan feel almost like a second home to him. He and Breezestar can easily lounge about on the Outlook Rock for hours just watching the stars or clouds roll by. He feel like he can tell her just about anything. Dogstar wouldn't have it any other way.
Dogstar thought Loststar was a little intimidating at first, but dear StarClan that scruffy baby has nothing compared to Phantomstar. The tom scared Dogfire out of his pelt when they first met.
Much like Lost, though, things have changed. If anything, he only holds massive respect for Phantomstar and his ability to lead ShadowClan so flawlessly. Phantomstar is one of the first cats Dogstar will go to for advice and things of the sort.
