Born in the fall, he was cursed with unnatural looking markings, colors, and spots. With such strange things, he and his mother had been banished from their herd. It didn't really matter to them anyway, after all they didn't really wander around in herds very often anyways. Blackavar was raised solely by his mother, and the only time they came out was at night. Eventually Blackavar grew up and left his mother to take care of a couple other fawns she had birthed to recently. Now he wanders about alone, keeping to himself and only coming out at night. Folks have seen him from time to time and have ultimately made up Halloween-esque stories about the buck. Some say the red markings are the blood of his victims, others say that he's blood-thirsty, and has fangs alongside his deer-like teeth. None of which are true, but it can be a blessing and a curse. People often go looking for him, others stay away. Either way, he's hard to find, being quite shy and isolated. Those that so much as get a glimpse at him are quite lucky indeed.
