Studied Musical Theater in university. Surely that says everything you need to know about him. He is the lead guitarist and second vocalist of cupid ❣ kill.
On the surface he seems like a total party animal, and that’s not exactly an inaccurate description of him, but you’d be hard pressed to find anyone as dedicated to their craft as Yuzuru is, or anyone as skilled a performer. He believes in the sanctity of the skills he takes up, and puts in his whole heart in order to master it. He believes the worst people in the world are the ones who treat such things like jokes.
As a child, he had so much energy and couldn’t stop jumping around, his parents sent him to martial arts class alongside his brother, Mitsuru. Deciding it wasn’t for him, he asked to be enrolled in dance classes instead. When Mitsuru came home with a guitar one day, it was love at first sight. Mitsuru eventually lost interest, but Yuzuru never let go of it. He falls in love with hard rock and heavy metal music, vowing to himself to one day become as good as his guitar idols.
Sometime in high school, he was scouted by an idol agency. As a dancer and singer (by virtue of being a theater kid), becoming an idol seemed like the logical next step, so he happily agreed and was met with support from his family. As a natural born performer, it’s no surprise that he was one of the select few chosen by the agency to compete in an idol survival show in Korea. Similarly, it wasn’t a surprise when he was a fan favourite, and a favourite to win and debut. However, Yuzuru felt like he couldn’t comfortably express himself within the confines of his idol industry, and the image his fans had of him felt like a good distance from the real him. Well, his worries were solved when he lost the chance to debut by the tiniest margin.
Returning to Japan, he decides to let go of the idol life, instead majoring in musical theater at university and returning to the band and B-boying scenes. At this point, he meets Hansol for the first time.
