Akira

Akira is a cheerful demon who refuses to let others bring him down. Even if they say mean things or act rude, it won't faze Akira since he already dealt with many rude people since childhood. When people are rude to him, Akira still puts on a bright smile and treats them like he would treat an acquaintance. Besides, those people don't stay in his mind since he's got other matters to attend to, especially as a commander-in-chief.

With how bright Akira's smile and tone are, people will sometimes think he comes off as smug or he's mocking them, when that's not the case at all for him. Akira isn't the type of person to easily cry, instead he'd rather be laughing and spreading postivity. He only brings up his past if people ask and are okay with violent details, and even when he's talking about his traumatic past, he still keeps a smile on, though he doesn't laugh.

Akira is an illegitimate child of the demon king and even though he wasn't the only one, people paid closer attention to him since he looked the most like his father. Because of how much he resembles his father, the mistresses would feel disgusted looking at him and would sometimes lash out at him. Even though Akira would be polite and kind to them, it was clear on their faces and their body language how disgusted they were by him. They would also mock him for not having a tail, since Akira was unable to grow one.

However, Akira was a popular and beloved kid outside the kingdom. He was liked for his bubbly personality, and even though he can be a bit of a brat sometimes, it was clear how much he cared about his friends. He remembered all their birthdays, what they like, and he understands them better than anyone else in their life. With how popular he is, it wasn't surprising when he got himself a boyfriend. At first, the relationship was going smoothly. Too smoothly. Akira's boyfriend out of nowhere asked Akira for a favor, which was to have Akira stripped naked. Akira immediately refused as he wanted to save his virginity, but he was told that they weren't going to have sex. Instead, Akira's boyfriend wanted to cut Akira's skin.

This request confused Akira, but he eventually agreed to it as he didn't want to upset his boyfriend. When it happened, all Akira remembered that time was him trying his best to hold in his screams and bawling his eyes out. At the time, Akira didn't understand why he agreed to this in the first place, but he later realized it's because he didn't want to disappoint his boyfriend and make him feel unloved. After that session, Akira woke up in a hospital bed and immedlately felt ashamed. He knew some demons in the kingdom will be informed of his injuries, and Akira couldn't tolerate the abuse anymore, but he still kept holding on. After all, he didn't have anywhere else to do. He lost trust in his boyfriend as well.

Even though his boyfriend never cut him again, he became cold and would make Akira run errands for him. Akira suddenly became a target for bullying thanks to his boyfriend's treatment, and he started questioning on why he was even trying to receive love. Is it because of his home situation? His father barely noticed him, and the mistresses living in the kingdom would even go as far as to hitting Akira, just by the fact that he looks like his father. After graduating from highschool, Akira's father talked to him after a long time, and he wanted Akira to be useful to him.

He started making Akira train with the soldiers from the kingdom, and surprisingly they treated Akira well. Akira wasn't popular, but he wasn't a punching bag either. Instead, he was just one of the guys and this lifted up Akira's spirits. They would also compliment Akira's scar, which made Akira uncomfortable at first, but later he came to accept them. He thought of them as a lesson to not fall for others so easily and to grow a backbone. Even when one of his horns snapped during a battle, it didn't bring Akira down. He was still cheery and the fellow soldiers respected him. Many years passed and Akira became commander-in-chief.

Akira would have never thought his distant father would employ him with a job that he enjoys a lot, and even though Akira doesn't necessarily love his father, he does appreciate him for deciding to make him a soldier to a commander-in-chief. He doubts they'll ever have a loving father-son relationship, but Akira wasn't worried. He likes where he's at now, and that's enough for him.
