Zing Zap

Your name is ZING ZAP and you are one of many ELECTROLL that reside in the land of HURRICOS. You’re a simple boy, and you do NORMAL ELECTROLL THINGS like TINKERING with MACHINERY and dealing with GEARGRINDERS. After all, it’s all electroll are good at. You unfortunately AREN’T. You’re too SCATTERBRAINED TO CONCENTRATE on projects and most of your work GOES UNFINISHED. Because of this, you were moved from metalwork and machines to KEEPING THE GEARGRINDERS AT BAY. The last electroll who was assigned this job was not very good at it, and the two of you swapped. You’re A LOT BETTER AT IT as you are NOT AFRAID to TELL THE CREATURES OFF for their theft. Their size doesn’t bother you in the slightest.

You’re very easily IRRITABLE and are typically in a SERIOUS and GRUMPY MOOD most of the time. This is usually because YOU’RE ALWAYS DEEP IN THOUGHT thinking about ALL SORTS OF DIFFERENT THINGS that you wanted to document and write down and if your thinking is INTERRUPTED, prepare for a lecture. The reason you never actually do that is because YOU HATE WRITING BLUEPRINTS. How silly.

You don’t have many interests, but you are FASCINATED WITH LIGHTBULBS. You have a room in your house FULL OF THEM. You COLLECT THEM. So many lightbulbs and for what purpose? Most of them DON’T EVEN WORK! Most others find your collection quite strange and weird, and usually question it whenever they visit. You don’t care. YOU LOVE YOUR LIGHTBULBS.

Zing has a very scatterbrain like personality. He’s very easily distracted and always has hundreds of things going on in his mind at once. He always seems to be lost deep in thought – even mid conversation – which makes talking to him difficult sometimes. This also makes it quite hard for him to focus as he’s always thinking about twenty other things at the same time. Because of this, his personal projects tend to suffer and are left for months without being finished because he just can’t seem to concentrate long enough to complete them. Even if it takes him a long time to finish things, he’s a hard worker and always tries to put in 100% effort when he’s able.

Despite his small size, he’s terribly brave and isn’t afraid to confront others if they’ve slipped up and said something wrong, or if they’re doing things they shouldn’t be. Because of this attitude, he was put in charge of keeping the geargrinder thieves at bay so that they can’t steal the lightning stones that other electroll were bad at keeping in check. He’s still not all that great at his job because he tends to zone out and miss the stones being stolen, and often takes awhile before he notices they’re missing, but he’s the best they’ve got.

Zing is a fairly serious and strict character as well and doesn’t take kindly to childish jokes or pranks. He does, however, have an alright sense of humour of his own if he’s in the right mood and around the right people - and even if he is a bit grumpy at the best of times he knows how to be funny every now and again.

Unfortunately, he’s very easy to irritate especially when he’s trying to work. He won’t hesitate to delve into an hour-long lecture if he needs to, and doesn’t really put up with any kind of bullshit. He’d be perfect on a debate team, as he is loud, has strong opinions, and quite a lot to say when he wants to. He’s very persuasive and persistent too – so if he’s preaching about a particular topic the person with a differing opinion either changes their mind or gives up completely to save their sanity.

Zing is only 1’0” in height, about the size of a subway sandwich. He’s small and his large head makes up almost half his height. His body is small and almost ‘anthro hamster’ like, and he’s fairly chubby with his fat arms and round tummy. He’s covered in dark blue short fur – save for his muzzle and ears which are an orange-cream in appearance, and his fur-less hands which are an almost black navy blue.

His nose is blue and looks guinea pig like in appearance, and is very soft - like a horse’s. He has two large antennae on his head that are the same colouration as his hands and they produce and conduct electricity. His eyes are squinty and small like a mole’s and he wears oversized glasses that seem to be full of lightning. His left lens has a large crack in it.
