Saffron

Saffron is your average catboy who was contracted by Chaldea as a Master Candidate after lying through the entirety of his evaluation. While he possesses some level of skill required, his apparent lack of memories regarding anything related to his past and his penchant for violence raises some concerns. Regardless, Saffron carries out his tasks to completion well enough that they haven't found an excuse to get rid of him.

They tell you to not judge a book by its cover. However Saffron lives up to his eccentric looks. His energy knows no bounds and no one has ever seen him actually run out of energy; he just takes a cat nap whenever he feels like it. If anything, he shows off his catlike behavior by having a 'zoomies' mode where his hyperactivity is somehow even worse. It's recommended to learn how to tell whether or not he's in 'zoomies' mode in order to risk injury as a result of a failed interaction. Because of this it's really hard to determine whether or not he's considered a nice or even good person. No matter the hardships, no matter the weather, he stays silly :3.

Amongst all of the staff and Servants contracted by Chaldea, the one who has most notably caught Saffron's attentions and... affections(???) is Pretender Oberon-Vortigern. Their relationship can be summarized as...

After many attempts to scrounge up anything related to Candidate Saffron's background, insiders may have found a possible link to him. The details are as follows:

According to several sources, there was once a small village named ██████████ located south of ██████. While this looked like an average, pleasant village full of hardworking citizens to your average outsider, apparently there lay dark secrets. The upper class had been taking advantage of the poorer population to raise them into ████████████. While there is no record of the full nature of their plans, apparently whatever they had in mind alerted the Gods from another spacial realm known as ██████████████████. In order to intervene, they enlisted the help of one of the poorer villagers snuff out the crisis. Following the annihilation of the village, they say the Gods rewarded the villager with a new identity and a new form; the villager's idealized body. However, they also wiped the majority of the villager's memories in the process.

There has yet to be confirmation that links this to Candidate Saffron's mysterious past, however fact the disappearance of the village 10 years ago coincides with the time period that Saffron's background check ends at raises many questions to whether this is a coincidence or not.
