Profile

Bell was originally a Gunalen’s snake-necked turtle (Chelodina gunaleni) before he was mutated into a human-turtle hybrid. When the Oozesquitoes escaped after Draxum’s lab was destroyed the second time, one happened to bite one of the turtle brothers, and carried that DNA to a nearby warehouse where a small snake-necked turtle and others were being kept as part of an animal trafficking ring. The bug bit the little turtle, and the rest is history!

Bell hasn’t been a mutant for nearly as long as the Hamato boys and is still getting the hang of his body, but shows promising skill and an eagerness to learn. He’s skilled with any ranged or projectile weapon including guns, but is always drawn back to the simplicity of the bow.

He’s skinny, taller than the disaster twins but still not quite as tall as Raph. He can’t tuck completely into his shell like the others and feels vulnerable because of it, so he stays out of range of any melee fighting, providing tactical support with his tech arrows (collaborative effort with Donnie).

He’s academic and intelligent like Donnie, but unlike Donnie he’s quiet and keeps to himself. He doesn’t talk much, but is very observant of his surroundings. He notices things that others don’t and seems to always be one step ahead of the enemy. In reality he’s a chronic overthinker and riddled with anxiety - the reason he seems to have a plan for every scenario is because he does! He spends so much time thinking and worrying that he has a step-by-step plan for even the most unlikely situations.

He’s more into the biology and geology side of the sciences, and he has a fascination with insects more than anything else. While Donnie fiddles with machines in his lab, Bell is out wandering Central Park and cataloguing every new insect he finds, often bringing them back to the lair to show the others (much to their dismay). He keeps an extensive collection of preserved and pinned specimens, which totally creeps Leo out!
