Gold Diamond may not necessarily be considered "matronly", but she does maintain a caring and lenient disposition towards her gems and those in her sisters' courts. She can be a bit impulsive and indulgent and tends to come off as not having a care in the world, though in reality she takes her responsibility as a leader far from lightly. More often than not you will find Gold organizing and partaking in parties and other miscellaneous celebrations or fussing over her Pearls.

History

Gold is the second of three Diamonds created to oversee the further reaches of gemkind's colonies and alleviate some of the pressure from the original Diamond Authority on Homeworld. She took to her position easily enough, leaning heavily on the eldest of the three early on as she got her feet on the ground, so to speak. As time wore on communications with Homeworld dwindled into near-nothingness, and the two Authorities became estranged, with the matriarchs of the Distant Authority more than happy to settle into their own routines. Existence in the outer colonies became humdrum, and more and more Gold found herself relaxing into a pattern of indulgence, with hardly anything to worry about anymore. She is fiercely fond of her sister Diamonds and her court, and despite her normally carefree demeanor, will not hesitate to exercise her power if she feels they are in danger.
