Personality:

A stubborn, hard-headed creature that is still trying to adjust to soft attic life, accustomed to the survival of the fittest mentality of the outside world. She isn’t particularly kind to the more naive animals, and struggles occasionally with the urge to hunt like she once did. Its mostly solitary, though is willing to trade or, if in a very good mood, give away fish to others, though everything comes with some sort of price in the end. She’s very attentive about debts, and expects others to repay them with as much commitment as she does - she hates owing others, but loves to be able to cash in favours. When debts are ignored.. it can hold a nasty grudge. Wick comes off as rather callous, selfish and materialistic, not becoming distracted with moral complexities and focusing on her own survival above others. Whenever it changes, it’s more likely due to a challenge it was too stubborn to refuse, though she isn’t stupid and may catch on to a trick. It isn’t the most open nor honest creature, though may tell a tale or two.. with dubious levels of truth. Superiority complex around smaller animals, though… kinda likes being proven wrong. She deeply respects those who impress her in some way.

Background:

Raised beside a Scottish river in a litter of 5, Wick’s parents chose not to name the cubs hastily due to the high chance of mortality, which is not an uncommon practice. This proved to be the case, as Wick lost a brother to sickness, another to a snake, and a sister to a fox. At a young age, barely older than children, Wick and her remaining sibling left their parents and travelled south, eventually crossing into England. However, a squabble between them over food left Wick with a nasty facial scar and a bitterness between the siblings that caused them to part. A few months passed uneventfully until she heard about the manor from a frantic vole she hunted and devoured. She was content with her solitary lifestyle, however that changed very quickly after an unsavoury encounter with a red fox which almost severed her tail and left her struggling to walk, though she dragged herself to a residential area. The mink was saved by a pet mouse that bandaged its wounds while it lay unconscious. Though defensive and wary at first, the two came to know one another, and the mouse, DeeDee, named it ‘Wick’ for its tufty reddish tail that reminded her of a flame on the wick of a candle. DeeDee and her sister, Milkshake, eventually abandoned their domestic lives to travel with Wick, enamoured by its tale of the manor (and DeeDee, perhaps, also enamoured by Wick itself). DeeDee sewed Wick’s backpack, which contains fishing nets. During this time Wick and DeeDee dated, though the mouse broke up with it a time after they found the manor due to ‘lifestyle differences’, which led to Wick going on a ‘purely pescatarian’ diet to try to prove to its ex that it could live without hunting rodents. This has yet to win her back, and now is just a necessary part of life in the attic, though Wick doesn’t mind too much and has taken up the role of fisher. Wick wears a doll hat, customised with various things she’s collected by the river she fishes at.
